Pretty happy with myself for getting up and getting on the trainer this morning.  I often just say "I''m too cozy,I can do it after work," then get home from work and it sorta screws up the evening.  Now I just get to relax!

A fun 4 x 7' at 300 3' at 205 set.

Nice work.

Do you have any pressure on the metatarsal when cycling?  I did.

I hit my Strava 200k running goal today, pretty ez by running every day.

I will also end with 135’ish miles for the month.  Not to bad with only 28 days in the month.

Ahhh I hear ya. I am lucky that run commuting is nearly as fast as driving or public transportation, so I am kind of forced to do it.

Good job getting er done. Enjoy the downtime!

Which is what I do.  My 1 hour ride is not much longer than the 45-55 minutes it takes to drive.  But I can't imagine a run commute being the same time as driving.  Or maybe I just run way too slow...LOL.

Only noticed it when i t was inflamed and I was pushing in the 340-50 range.  Otherwise no pressure.  I also have insoles in the cycling shoes which may help

Cycling through South Central on my way home in the dark on a $2000 bike doesn't sound like the smartest idea I'd ever have.....

Well, try not to drive my car much in general. But by the time I park in our off site lot and then take the shuttle in, it's only about 15 minute difference.

I used to bike but I get more bang for my buck this way. Especially now that cycling doesn't really play a role in my training.

But not the worst either?

Happy to be on the trainer again after several days of nothing to get rid of a cough.

. Have you tried 'superfeet' before, as they have been a godsend for me?
I use the green superfeet in my running shoes (but not the hokas). Terribly expensive tho

For masters swim yesterday morning, the coach brought stationary swim cords (basically turns the pool into a treadmill / trainer / endless pool) to play with.  He said it could help expose stroke flaws and give me some insight as to what works and doesn't work for me.

I found that a fairly quick turnover rate feels better to me versus a slower, more powerful pull (which makes sense to me since higher cadence on the bike or run is much preferred to mashing pedals or long/slow strides).  I tend to think that may be why my pulling (with paddles and buoy) is slower than just swimming.  I don't seem to have the strength to pull at a quick turn over (while maintaining good technique and form), but my coach thinks I'll eventually get there.

Anyone ever use these cords before?  Anyone use them on a somewhat regular basis?

I know Yanti does. She would likely be a great resource for this.

I believe there is a chapter in Sheila T's book about this too. They seem like an excellent tool.

I've used them occasionally.  They definitely promote a quicker turnover as it's hard to hold your position with a slower one.

A blog to make Rusty happy (...er)     This is from Jim Manton, the current fitter du jour to the stars (and name dropper, i.e., "we discovered when working with Leanda that...."  or "Crowie just didn't like...."     ) .  This bike musta come in later in the day as I was there in the morning Saturday.

I tend to go for more action fare on the trainer.  Blowing up aliens and stuff....

I do too. Namely things that have some sort of a thrill which elevates the heart level. For the really intense stuff I'll put on some stronger music if it doesn't match up well enough to a SF vid. My movie and show watching in general can vary quite a bit, but for trainer riding it has to contain those elements. There are many "good" shows I'll watch otherwise, but they're terrible on the trainer as they lack this. There are many crappy shows that do this better and I'll watch them on the ride.

I'd watch stuff blowing up too but Tab, not so much.  She and I are generally on the trainer at the same time and since her choice might be Greys Anatomy or something like that, we meet in the middle.

ETA: I'm generally after something I don't really have to pay attention to so if I put my head down for a few minutes during a tough interval, I don't really miss anything.  Food shows qualify for that.

The swim is ALWAYS a cause for concern when it comes to competing in a triathlon. This is the event for which you need to concentrate on RELAXING.
