...And here's some pics of the animals I have been working with in quarantine (they will eventually live in the reptile house, but they all get quarantines on arrival):

An Amazon Milk Frog--By far one of the most 'different' looking frog species I have seen--yet REALLY cool.

And a Glass Frog--called that because you can see through their skin! unless, like this one, they are covered in dirt...

Cute!!!  The milk frog is especially adorable.

Does this seem odd to anyone else?  This is the last two weeks of my program (BT beginner half).  Next week, I am running only once.  (Well, I guess according to the program, the week is M-Sun, so I am running twice, but still).  Would you throw another run or two in there, even shorties?  For the record, I will likely be following the biking for next week, but still swimming 3 times, M-W-F.

I just did what it said, was fine.  You've done all the work now - just go with the flow!

CONGRATULATIONS DUBSIX

"Slower than I hoped, faster than I feared" means you did it perfectly. It's good; it keeps you just hungry enough.

The housewarming was awesome. So many piglets. Of course they all came with their smokin' hot wives who are younger than I am, but the piglettes sure were nice eye candy and very fun too. Me and this crazy Italian guy who used to be a Giro and Tour chaser were the life of the party and everybody understood when I left before midnight so I could watch the end of today's Tour stage.

Good luck to the racers, well done to those that have finished!

Saturday was just swim squad for me - supposed to ride as well but rain stopped play and indoor just didn't happen - the bottle of red was more appealing.

Nice surprise at squad - I get there early and powering up and down is a set of shoulders doing butterfly - my God like a speedboat so far out of the water.  Turns out to be Coach Johnny who is back in the water after 18months trying to get some kind of breathing/heart problem sorted.  No diagnosis so he decided just to get back in.  Now that is a nice sight in speedos.

Squad was good - 2.8km in a n hour - drill upon drill, I swear I can do the IM swim Left Arm only right arm in front!  It is sooo much stronger than the right and doesn't fatigue at all.  When I'm out there doing that 3.8km and getting fed up and emotional I'm going to do a bit of the drill work to keep me amused!

OK, race results are in, so the report is ready. I had an alright day, better then last year, but not where I wanted to be. That means that I have more work to be done. It is funny how difficult the intricacies are for such a simple sport. I mean how hard should it be to just swim, bike and run? Add in the transition, the nutrition, the combination of them all, etc and it turns into a bit larger challenge. Funny...

What a glorious Melbourne winter's morning.  I got up at 5.45am and decided I would try one of those Gu things - bleugh I hate the texture though the taste was okay, washed it down with a cup of tea.  By 6.30am was out - it was cold but not frosty or minus one like last week.  I decided I'd do the 6.5km out and see how I felt and if I had another couple of kms in my legs.  Well my turnaround point is a road called Tramway Parade.  I was sooooo enjoying my run - the sun was rising, the ocean calm with sailboats all over, cyclists all shouting good morning to me - I completely missed Tramway Parade and just running running running - suddenly I look at my watch, been going an hour - that can't be right, turned around!  I actually did 16.25km in 2 hours - not fast but it's hilly.  I really enjoyed it.  Every minute!  I was that lone runner who was smiling the whole time!  Love it!

I missed my bike ride this weekend but no matter - always next week.

Love the frog pix!!!

My weekend is going well.  Probably walked at least 15 miles at the relay, didn't count laps. Got to bed at about 6 AM this morning then got up at 9:30 for a 25 mile ride in the Kansas countryside.  Pretty warm here but the scenery was wonderful. Ater the ride I spent the day with DH and the fam.  Now chillin in the hotel.  Tomorrow breakfast with the fam then begin the drive back to the desert.

Happy weekend all.  Can't wait to read the rest of the RRs

We're quiet today. All waiting for Adrienne to fill us in.

I went out running late last night -- I was hoping to be out 2.5 to 3 hours, which would have put me home between midnight and 12:30, but I took a tumble at mile 8. I hate that. I actually skidded across the sidewalk -- road (sidewalk??) rash on my right knee and chin (of all places!) Amazingly, I skinned only the first one or two layers of skin off the palms of my hands and my elbows, so while they are a bit bruised and very tender (and sensitive to heat I discovered this evening while cooking dinner), they are fine. It could have been worse. I got home, looked in the mirror, and my nose was completely covered in dirt/grime. It must have "hit" the sidewalk, but only enough to get coated with road dirt, not enough to scrape.

I've been lectured all day by my family for being out that late (including my 11 year old). I told them all what I was doing before I went out and my route, and my husband sent me off with a nice hug and a quick "Your a$$ looks great," so I didn't realize they were so against it.

I ended up being out for just under two hours, so I did get to practice some nutrition (which was one of the goals). I was on pace to cover 15-16 miles in three hours, and would have easily completed the minimum 12 I was going for (I was going to stay out for the final few only if my nutrition was working and I was still feeling good), until the tumble.

It's funny how when you first hit the pavement the thought is, "Please don't let anything be broken or sprained." I was kind of stunned for a few seconds and couldn't move at all, but obviously, I managed to get up and walk for a couple minutes, before I was able to run again.

It made for interesting conversation at Sunday School this morning with my 3-5 year olds. They were fascinated by my wounds. Laughing

I hope everyone else had a good weekend. We are actually seeing the "light at the end of the tunnel" with the RV renovation project. Then my husband announced tonight that he wants to add a solar panel. Oh dear. The only other down side is that the "living room" sub floor (which we replaced yesterday) in the RV started squeaking tonight. We were scheduled to put the flooring on it tomorrow, so now I don't know what he wants to do.

Wow, you gotta be careful running at midnight. I'm glad the injuries were minor, or at least you made it sound that way. I'm not sure how I would feel if my wife were out running so late. But, then again, she is a grown woman and is going to make her own mind up about stuff, so my opinion only holds so much weight

Good luck with the RV. And great job on the run as well.

Heal quickly. Do u take a cell phone with u on these late night runs? If not, you may want to consider bringing one. It won't stop anything from happening, but will allow you to call for help and may make your family feel a bit more comfortable.

I am suffering from lack of motivation.  I just don't feel like doing anything.  Blah.

On the positive side, I am down two pounds this week.  Sweet!  Also, two of the three kids are at their first overnight camp.  I dropped them off yesterday and they both were excited and didn't want me to stick around.  I think that is a good sign.

Cole is off at school so I should take advantage of having no one home and take a nap go out for a run.  Riding tomorrow.

Amazingly, I skinned only the first one or two layers of skin off the palms of my hands and my elbows, so while they are a bit bruised and very tender (and sensitive to heat I discovered this evening while cooking dinner), they are fine.

Awww ... {{MELON PRESS}} and kiss for the boo-boos ... hope they heal fast!

I'm torn on running at night. I do it, although with canine company and a headlamp. But (pre-headlamp days) I've tripped on something I didn't see, went flying, and landed on my head resulting in a concussion.
