Ladies, ladies, ladies.  Have a few little lovelies I thought I'd share: http://www.splish.com/products/bikinis/all

How timely of you to post these, especially the last one with the gnome and unicorn and rainbow.  A guy in our tri club was 'scarred' by having to bike behind a male in these (the male bikini version of what you posted) for a long distance in his last tri (Savageman, I think).  Someone snuck a photo of him and emailed it to the group but I must've deleted it.

I'm seriously digging this unicorn suit! My Nike is ummmmm....starting to play peek-a-butt.

Wonder if I could talk DH into matching ones? baaaahahahaha (why, oh why, is there not a laughing w/tears emo guy????)

The one I wish was on here is the guy with kind of a rectangular shaped sheepish grin. I use him a LOT on my iPhone.

Well...I got an email and call from my mom this morning...No chemo just yet. It turns out that she did NOT have ovarian cancer after all. Instead, what she actually had(and maybe still has) is a Neuro-endocrine tumor. These types usually show up in the lungs, and then can recur in the brain; in this case, hers just settled in the ovary. In the meantime, the docs are having her get a full body scan to make sure that there is no hidden cancer elsewhere on her body (and WHY did they not do this when she was in the hospital in the first place??????) . On the upside, this type of cancer generally responds quite well to chemo, so its not as bad as it could be. Its still very scary, and I (and my mom and dad) are very tired of the unending stream of questions and craziness. Truly, I am in that 'numb' state again with my mind going round and round with no conclusion being found.

Someone asked about the Cheshire suit--I am working on it today--it has to be done by a week from Friday, so as soon as it is I will get a pic taken and post--I promise. Today's tasks involve making the body suit part, with finishing off the feets and hands next--then all that will be left is the tail.

Well, I guess that's good news, but also still stressful.

My ex-mother-in-law, who was 80, at least, died last spring of ovarian cancer. My first thought when I found out what she had was, "Why does she still have her ovaries???" Sometimes I wonder why once someone is through menopause, doctors don't just take out all of that stuff.

I hope everything goes well for her.

Last year was west to east along the southern part of the state. They won't announce the 2014 route until they open registration.

The pro's are getting to spend a week with my niece and my bike and visiting the awesome little towns along the route Laughing

The con's are spending over a week of annual leave, the unpredictable Kansas weather and sleeping in a tent Undecided

Soooooo the insanity at my house...

Saturday afternoon, post race and after I'd finished planning meals for the week and done the grocery shopping, I get a call from my Dad that he and the GF are coming down Thursday (today). Ok, good to see them, gotta figure out how to feed two extra tummy's for the weekend.

Then Tuesday, while I'm in a terrible cell phone reception area, I get a cryptic message from DS2 about coming to stay with us "for a while". I say of course and don't think much of it. On my way to meet Felicia I get more of the story, he will be here Wednesday. Okaaaaay. Another tummy to feed for the weekend. Of course, I love having them there and the only issue, in my mind, is meal planning.

Then on my way home from meeting Felicia I get another message that DS2 is broken down with mechanical issues on his motorcycle. Wunnerfull. $250 and a couple hours later he's on the road again. I hear from him at 2am that his muffler fell off and at 3am that he made it to the hotel. I did NOT get much sleep Tuesday night. He finally made it to the house yesterday evening. Now I just have to hear from Dad! INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and to add to the confusion of meal planning (I'm kinda OCD about that, can ya tell?) I had to re-arrange meals so that I could do bigger meals when the house is full. The problem with this is that DH is on a "special" diet this weekend for a colonoscopy on Monday and I'd planned the meals to accomodate that. AAAAND I've got to figure out how to fit in my s/b/r. I'll figure it all out and I LOVE seeing DS2 and my Dad. Just venting. Thankyouverymuch.

Oh, dear. I'm glad DS2 made it okay. Finally. How long is he staying?

Yuck. Colonoscopy. Poor DH.

I'm not sure even HE knows how long he's staying. Apparently the place he was supposed to work had to cut back so they cut the new guy. So he's looking for a new job. Not sure how that is effective from NM but I'm just trying to be supportive. It might have been easier (cheaper) to just send him $ to get by.

Nice ride report!

I know that I struggle with what to wear when the season change.  I started to keep some good notes and that has really helped.  I sometimes think that it's partially mental.  In the spring 60 degrees sounds really warm and in the fall, not so much.  The spreadsheet reminds me that I was "comfy" wearing whateveritsays in the past so I know that it'll be OK.  That being said, I totally understand that it's no fun being cold and that this is supposed to be fun!

I was layered, but not enough apparently.  I had a long-sleeved compression shirt on, bike jersey, and then a hoody.  That kept me warm the first lap with the exception of the extremities (hands and feet were freezing).  On the second lap, everything was cold.

Hmmm, someday I will know what this "cold" thing is like...maybe.

Bummer you didn't get the full ride in, but better safe than sorry. Looked like a nice little group to ride with for a few hours.

Yeah, cold weather is tough on the bike. Once it starts to come, have to cover everything to block the wind. When it's 50, additional things I'll add to that are full-fingered gloves, ski socks, a second pair of small socks, possibly knee warmers, possibly shoe covers. Depends on the wind, cloud cover and the progression of the temperature throughout the ride. At road bike speeds there is no hiding from it, if you miss, it can go right through you. Playing it safe is definitely a good call.

Wow! Putting all of this together means I'm going to have to go cold weather shopping for our long rides. I don't think I've ridden in much less than 70* and usually closer to 85-90...even at 6:30am.

But in the winter, yes, it does freeze here. Where do you think "When hell freezes over" comes from? Laughing

Oh Chriiiiiiiis?!?!?!?!?!

I am going to purpose a Silly Sprint Meet-Up (I need to come up with a much better name than this, prefferably something with an acronym, so work on that, k?) sometime next summer (spring, fall, whatever) in a centralish location.

The idea:

Travel to an easyish to reach place

Meet some BTers

Wear your silliest suit/kit, maybe some glitter--see the thread in the triforum for specific glitter details.

Have a fun, but not necessarily fast race (they don't have to be mutually exclusive) *coughBencough*

Hang out after the race (might be some drinking involved, maybe, possibly)

Just a little PSA :)

I may change my user name to Jerry McGuire

I have secured two definite sponsors for my little pro triathlete, Kieran Roche (remember that name it will means something in a few years)

So he gets free tri clothing from one for the year - racing suits, compression socks, sleeves tights and accessories.

Protein powder and supplements from the other as well as some funding.

Second tier sponsorship from a third offering discount on Shotz.

Next chasing up wetsuit and sunglasses and a bike box company.

This is fun.

SHOW ME THE MONEY.

Protein powder and supplements from the other as well as some funding.

Second tier sponsorship from a third offering discount on Shotz.

Next chasing up wetsuit and sunglasses and a bike box company.

This is fun.

SHOW ME THE MONEY.

That's awesome Jo!

I don't know if you've seen this article, but I thought it was really good http://triathlete-europe.competitor.com/2013/06/03/jesse-thomas-blog-show-me-the-money

Well. honestly, I just think he's hot, and I like the way he writes, so I found it interesting. Thought it might be fun for you to read, if you haven't already

I just started reading his blog when he wrote about being injured - he writes well, and looks good!

Just a little PSA

A guy at masters has the tuxspeedo. He's trying to get some custom ones (team colors) for a few of the guys (not me).

What would you call "centralish"?
