DanielG - 2013-04-05 6:51 AM North Korea reportedly has 2 missiles, possibly capable of hitting Guam, at coast on launchers 2 missles capable of hitting Guam

"We have sunk the island of Guam and our submarines have unleashed the dogs of hell on the Pacific Fleet of the infidels.  All of the aircraft carriers of the American pigs lay on the ocean floor."

HEY! That goes well with what one of the US Congressmen said: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs23CjIWMgAHank Johnson (Congress D-GA) - Warns Guam May Capsize

Bhagdad Bob and Georgia Hank should go on the road together......I'd pay to see the show. Laughing

I am just glad this did not happen right after we went into Iraq.  If we did not invade we would have looked weak in the eyes of our enemies and would have to attack to save face.

We had to invade Iraq because they might be creating nuclear weapons in the future.  If they created them they might have thought about using it on us.  Plus we could not back out because it would emboldened our enemies.

Now we have a guy that has them.   He said he is going to use them.  Maybe has the capabilities to hit maybe hit us soil (Guam).  Hey, Guam maybe small but its still USA and no one messes with the USA.

We will never invade or bomb NK pre-emptively.  Iraq didn't have China backing them.

Which leads to another question, would the Chinese or Russians really back the crazy dude in today's world?

China will sit by quietly unless the U.S. attacks first.  Then you can bet they'll bail NK out like they always do.  They *hate* our involvement with Taiwan and the situation with North Korea is a great way for them to put a burr in our saddle, so to speak.

Plus I heard China likes the buffer between south Korea and themselves.  If it was just 1 Korea we could be knocking on there door.

War would never happen.  How would we fund it?  I doubt China would give us the money to fund it.

We aren't reliant on China to fund our wars. We have the Federal Reserve to fund our wars for us. And don't be so sure that war will never happen. I mean can you realistically see a peaceful solution to the Korean problem? Like I said before, North Korea will fail just like ever other centralized totalitarian state and most of the time they don't die peacefully.

China is not concerned with the US militarily. They're very much concerned with their other neighbors, Russia in particular. They're very concerned about NK doing something stupid right now.

If it gets much worse, China will invade and clean it up. They don't want the US to do it and they can go with the blessing of the UN. But if NK nukes Japan or one of the US coastal cities first, I don't think there will be much left.

I wonder if China would really go that far.  I would think that China's biggest concern would be that of refugees flooding their country should S. Korea and the U.S. mount an attack.

I don't take N. Korea as lightly as some.  These guys have had a long time to sit back and observe our weaknesses.  I would not be surprised if they had a very elaborate tunnel system in that country which would require us to be on the ground for a long time.  I don't think we have the mental might or finances to handle them right now.

I think we would be better off taking all of our violent criminals, and doing a mass static line drop into the country.  We would help our financial situation, purge the prison system and keep N. Korea too busy to continue the aggravation since their crime rate would surge.

C'mon people... let's get creative here.

I like it. Give someone else an "illegal immigration" problem.

Oops, sorry, AP. I meant to write an "undocumented Democrat" problem.

Actually, illegal immigration is correct. Illegal immigrant is not. According to AP.

I do worry about NK because its leaders are so far off their rockers. I wouldn't put it past them to do something completely insane. And I have lots of friends in Korea and lots of family in Japan to whom I'd like to see nothing happen.

Nuclear weapons have absolutely no military value. The reason the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. never went at it was MUTUAL assured destruction. A small nation... NK, Iran, Pakistan launching a nuke is simply... ASSURED destruction. Nuclear weapons are only good for idiots making demands and getting bargaining chips.

China has no use for any war with us. They do not need to, it would cut their own throats. We are no allies, but we certainly are not enemies, and right now the U.S. is their biggest customer by far.

If indeed Lil' Kim is THAT crazy, that is a very easy problem to solve. The first Korean war was different. The rest of the world has no use for one now and would not stand for an invasion.
