Congrats Q & best wishes to all FOOD IS GOOD BTers for a healthy physically active week!

I messed up this weekend, but I am not going to beat myself up about it (already did that). Time to move forward and gain control again. I have an office fridge full of good food choices with some TJS 72% dark chocolate for a treat today.

Yay Q!

I was doing great all weekend but we celebrated a late Father's Day so of course that included ice cream! It did taste really good and technically I could have said no...but I didn't so I guess I have to suffer the consequences.

On another note, I have been researching a gluten free diet.  Does anyone have any websites or books or recommendations they can pass on to me?  Thanks!

I have a GF recipe book or two I could probably send your way.  I was going to explore it at one time, but it's been determined that I don't have any sort of gluten intolerance so it's not necessary.

There are some GF BTers that you can probably hit up for reference...I'll see if I can sniff them out.  You might also want to check the nutrition board for some GF threads.  I know I've seen a couple.

Here are some blogs that I've checked out that you might find interesting:

The Mommy Bowl (this is actually a BTer's blog...my fellow Donkai, DeannaS)
Gluten Free Gobsmacked
Gluten-Free Goddess

Ginger Lemon Girl

My weekend fell apart too, had two bbq's to go to on Sunday, but the past is the past, not going to dwell. Good luck to everyone this week, fresh start

I went to a friend's house for grillin' last night (cedar-planked salmon and veggies...yum), and couldn't seem to turn down the small bowl of ice cream as an end-of-weekend treat. Other than that, I had a decent week, including dropping about three lbs of water. So I think I have a more realistic idea of the actual weight I need to lose to get to my end-of-challenge goal--11 lbs, which I think is pretty doable/realistic.

I've gotten rid of the residual "junk" foods in my kitchen and stocked up on the good stuff, so sticking to my plan should require less thought. And to solve my seeming inability to log foods, I've revived my food blog, where I post pictures of everything I eat. It's better than nothing, and at least keeps me aware of what I'm putting into my face.

In other, not nutrition-related news, I've been able to resume a yoga practice. So yay for that.

I had a really good week. Pleased with my food choices. I had my cheat last night, we had some milk chocolate in the house. I was really disappointed with it and actually stopped eating well before the serving was gone, I ended up throwing the rest of it away. Bummer that I wasted my weekly cheat on bad chocolate but really pleased with my food choices overall. I've been measuring, weighing and tracking on the BT food tracker which has helped me stay honest.

Is it too late to join?  My goal is to lose my mommy-kangaroo pouch, which I have no excuse for having considering the amount of exercise I've been doing.  Will attain this by curbing sweet tooth and watching portion size.

It's never too late to join in my opinion! I am hanging on by my fingernails this week - I am finishing up four accelerated college courses this week (16 weeks crammed into 8 weeks, times four) and have about 20 little papers and 10 misc. other assignments to finish by the weekend. So I am not eating my best, but have things like almonds and fruit to snack on as I go. After this week, it's pretty much more a normal life.

Everyone has the best attitudes - just keep moving forward in a positive direction and shake off the times you miss your goal. Just keep aiming for it!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I'd like to join too please! I am in the middle of training for IMWI and thought all the extra training would off set the junk I have been eating...it is time to get honest with myself and be aware of what I am eating! I would like to loose at least 10lbs, eat 5-7 fruits/veg daily, lean meats, only whole grains and cut out the junk. I will allow myself to have a "treat" only if I have cal left and have complete my training for the day. Thanks everyone!

Seriously?  Is it still showing up that way?  I didn't write it in Spanish so you must have a universal translator.  Hehe...just like on Star Trek!

Thank you for the props peeps!

I did have quite a cheat day on Saturday, but I think I did alright the rest of the week.  I haven't been too bad other than that one day.  I've been eating a multitude of protein shakes and Greek yogurt.  I've upped my fruit and vegetable intake too.

I hope everyone's week is starting off great!!

I downloaded the "My Net Diary" application for my phone and logging has never been easier! The first day I used it I got a serious caloric wake up call. It was bad - really really bad!!

I have done really well this week with no processed food and limiting my starchy carbs until this morning. I did a 1/2 mile swim to warm up before my kettlebell class (at the Y) and then it was coconut cake for breakfast! OOPS! We are a very social and close knit early morning group at the Y so we were celebrating one of my very good friends birthday with cake at 7 am! At least I ate it immediately following an intense workout. Usually that sets the tone for the rest of the day, but I am going to stay on track now that I have confessed :-)

Glad to see everyone is doing well so far!  We can't all expect to be perfect all the time so don't let the cheats get you down!

I'm doing well so far today...oatmeal, fruit, and yogurt for breakfast, which was actually meal 3.  My first two meals were protein shakes before and after my morning CrossFit workout.

My back isn't too happy about it, but my chest and abs like it.  I need Bikram Yoga!!

While I haven't logged on in a few days, I have been logging on paper...and that's big for me.  I will admit that I've had some sugar binges...I had a rough start to the week and I took out my stress on food.  But, I have all my dinners for the next week planned out, and website I follow (GraciousPantry.com) is doing a 2 week clean eating kick-start that I'm participating in.  It's basing the plan off Tosca Reno's Cooler 1 in Eat Clean Diet Recharged...but subbing chicken for a lot of the fish.  It feels good to have a plan of action.

I made the taco recipe last night with chicken, it was delicious! Thanks Jezzieswims!

By the way I made a weird discovery at dinner. We didn't have any sour cream, on a whim I subbed cottage cheese. I know, sounds gross, but actually fulfills the want for shredded cheese and sour cream all in one, and it's healthier. I actually despised cottage cheese up until last sunday, so if you like it already even better

another good choice for sour cream is plain Greek yogurt.  It has that similar tangy taste
