Can't do the oil.  Not a fan of what it does to sheets, and clothes, and furnature.  Maybe I put too much on?

My "newish" neighbor saw me riding my bike yesterday and ask to look at it.  He was impressed (as he should be    ), and asked how much I spent on it...

I reluctantly told him a ballpark number.  Now I regret it.  I don't like anyone to know (stranger) that I have nice stuff.  No need to dangle a carrot out there...

 

On the other hand, I'm 1/3 the way done wrapping coins.  Up to $400 all wrapped up so far.

Ever have strange fantasies/dreams as you try to go to sleep?  It doesn't always have to be bad...

I had one last night about my coins and going to the bank...  Weird.

Mission accomplished!  I closed out a tan.

Yeah, but I'm stingy.  I don't want to give them 10% (100-120 bucks) to count coins...

I sorted them in a couple hours.  That was fun and easy.  Stacking and rolling is a different story.

Even better is taking it to the bank where you do your checking.  They will count it for free for you.  No point in paying a percentage to Coinstar.

OK - long thought...  And yes, it's about the coins....  (and my weird dream).

I called ALL OVER town to see if a bank will count coins for you.  NONE do.  They want you to wrap them up....

So I am.  And I have probably worked 6-7 hours on it so far.

SO.  When I go to the bank to cash them in, what do you think is going to happen?  Will they give me cash, or will they say they have to count them first?  Interesting, no?

So my daydream was to go into the bank and see if they will count coins.  When they say no, I will ask for a manager to confirm.  If THEY say no, I will say fine, bring the rolled up coins from the car and ask for cash.  If they say they can't give me cash untill they count them, I'm going to raise hell.  (see how I brought the manager in early to ambush them?)

I will ask them to make ANY kind of sense of having me spend days counting and rolling, for them to unwrap and count them.  When they could have just done that in the first place.

OR, they may just give me cash and I spent all this time figuring out how I was going to create a stink for no reason.

What will you do with the coins once you get them wrapped?  Will your bank not break up all the rolling you've done, dump it into their machine, and charge you a % for counting it?  That's what my bank does.

I keep wanting to post about that, but it sceams "all about me" a little too much.

BUT.  I LOVE my new avatar.  I get a thrill every time I see it for some reason.  This one may be around for a long while.  Strange how fond I am of it...

Negative.  Tried that (or asked on the phone).  And they said they don't do it.

at 6-7 hours (and counting?) i would have just paid coinstar to count.  my time is worth more than $14/hour.  if you get it in gift cards you don't pay the percentage.

THAT'S what I'm interesting in seeing if happens.  I played that scenerio out in my dream last night and it ended up badly.  It involved weapons and a stand off with cops...  Not good.

I'm not high priced like you. 

I'm cheap and easy...  I only go for about 5 bucks and hour.  Plus I got to drink beer and watch TV while doing it.

that is awesome.  if that is really what happens, i hope it ends up on youtube.
