Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: June Run Challenge - Team 2 kimk - 2009-05-31 10:06 AM Hi team! I'm Kim. Looking forward to another challenge! I'm good with any name but agree we need to pick up the chattiness in the group! Kim, According to the spreadsheet your goal is 600hrs of running. Since there are only 720 hours in the whole month of June I'm guessing this is wrong When you get a chance could you please fix it? Thanks, Nicole |

Someone else posted 700 miles. Eventually, all the typos get ironed out. |

I think I realized today that Yellow 5 makes my tummy feel funny!! Which is not fun, cuz I just bought a little gatorade thing of lemon-lime powder...ugh!! You could try Gu20 or Nuun. I've used both and found that I like them more than Gatorade. Gatorade is too sweet and that sometimes makes my stomach hurt. At my Tour de Cure ride last year they had Nuun at all the rest stop; I didn't like it and don't think I heard a single good thing said about it. However, Kristen/enders_shadow swears by it. I've used it a few years and I really like it. Some of the flavors are much better than others and a lot of it is personal preference. I love the TriBerry, Kristen is a big fan of the cola. Cola makes me kind of sick. The problem with Nuun is that you don't really get calories from it so you do have to make sure you are eating food in addition to drinking it. It's largely just electrolytes and flavor. |

Doh' I was so excited about Nuun - I have tried it before...and it was ok. And I don't really need the calories...I would almost prefer no calories! But I am trying to go off of artificial sweeteners for a while |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: June Run Challenge - Team 2 Good morning, Challenge Participants! It's JUNE, and the challenge has officially begun! (Although many of you are already well underway with the secondary challenge aka the "post padding challenge.") There are some new people being added to your teams. So the roster on the first page of the team threads may be out of date by now. However, the Spreadsheet has the current team roster. There's a link to your team's spreadsheet on the first post of the thread. Some people like to update the spreadsheet after every workout. Others prefer to do it weekly. The choice is yours. Every Sunday, I'll check the spreadsheets, and give everyone an update with the current team rankings. If you have any questions, you can ask your team captain or me. Enjoy the challenge! Ready... Set.... GO! - Dee |

But I am trying to go off of artificial sweeteners for a while I talked to the Nuun guys trying to get them to make an unflavored version that you could add to your favorite drink but I guess they didn't go for my idea. You can buy various electrolyte powders. I use the Hammer brand and add it to cranberry juice. I've tried it in plain water but it tastes a bit nasty, kinda like swamp water. |

Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: RE: June Run Challenge - Team 2 'ternoon Team 2 (or the June bugs and such). I'm Sal, a 4 year veteran on BT. 44, married with 3 kids. I've been away from the social aspects of BT for about a year, but have continued racing. Just trying to make sure I was employable during the 'recession.' We've had a good year despite, so work has calmed down a bit. Thought I'd get back on the challenge scene. Finished 2 half marathons this season with poor training, and I have a half Ironman distance race in 2-weeks which I am somewhat underprepared for. I NEED the motivation! It was a busy May--daughter qualified for state, daughter and son starting soccer tournaments. It's time to put some energy back into consistent training. Hopefully the reminders from the team will keep me motivated. Sounds like we have a great team! |
