KOM - 2009-09-27 4:02 PM I think we need a team name that has the initials E.V.I.L.

EVIL is a really hard acronym to use.

I did come up with G.O.A.T.S.:  Goal Or A Taser Shock

It seemed appropriate.

Hey team!  I'm a little behind but I just saw this thread.  I don't get much computer time at home on the weekends - my 15yo is usually on it either doing homework or talking to her friends (when we're not spending the day at one of her XC meets).

Anyways, I'm Janet - not what you would call really chatty but I promise to check in as often as I can.  I'm looking forward to this challenge.  I just started doing tri's this year (did 2 sprints) although I've been a runner for almost 3 years - if you can call what I do runningLaughing.  My focus for the next couple of months is running since I'm contemplating a half marathon in either early March or April - haven't decided which one I'm going to sign up for.  It will be my third one and my training always starts off well but then fades so I'll probably need some tasering, prodding, motivating from you guys to keep me on trackSmile.  I've also got some shorter running races scheduled for the next couple months so that should help too.

Figured out my goal. 130 miles. My goal is still to run NYC, so if I want to do that then I'm going to have to do this. And I expect to run each of those miles so I'm going with miles instead of minutes like i said previously. Them legs better cooperate or else I'm returning them for a new pair.

My plan calls for 215km for next month, but my doc asked me to go easy a little bit since I had some overuse pain in the legs, so I decided to put 200km as my running goal. If I ever go for more than that I will adjust it

Robert - I followed the link to your blog - saw that you did Esprit Tri. I am considering it for next year. What did you think of the race? How was riding on the racetrack?

Geez, you guys are planning on running a lot!  I shall shoot for a measly 55-60 miles.  In fact, let's say....57.5 miles.  Right in the middle.

I popped into team 3's thread to say hi and saw mention of food.  I'm hungry but don't feel like cooking dinner anytime soon.  What is everyone eating tonight?  We will end up having grilled pork chops and whatever else I whip up.

Hey team!  I'm Wes, I've been on BT for almost a year and completed my first 2 sprint races and a century ride so far.  Next first will be a Half-Marathon in either Dec or Jan, I haven't committed to which race I want to spend my money on - probably the Dallas White Rock Half in Dec.

I'm getting ready to head out to Cowboy Stadium for some Monday Night Football -- so tailgate food for me tonight :-)

I loved it, very well organised lots of volunteers and a big event. Riding on the track is as close as perfection for a bike as you can get. The pavement is sooo smooth it's really cool and fast.

I will do it again next year for sure, maybe the HIM

Oh that sounds like fun--I'd like to hitch a ride with you tonight!  Instead I have 90 minutes of spin class to teach.  Will be fun but not anything like tailgating.....

Cole is in a bad mood.  Why????????  I hate days like this!  10 more minutes....I can make it!

Taser him!

Oh wait. It's your kid. Maybe tasering isn't a good idea....

Nevermind then. :P

Hope he's in a better mood tonight. I thought he liked his new school?

ebshot - 2009-09-28 7:49 AM It's almost time for my kids to get on the bus!!!!  Then I shall have a little peace and quiet.  But I can't enjoy it.  I need to clean my house.  Such fun, no?
You cleaned it when you moved in!! That is enough for this month!!

Oh wow. I *really* like the way you think!

Wait... You think you'll only get tasered if you don't meet your goal????

That's not exactly what the usual plan is. Generally, I follow the motto "Taser Teamates Early And Often." Guess that comes out to TTEAO.

Neal is on Team 3. Of *course* they're talking about food. LOL

Right now, I'm eating handfuls of cereal. I don't think that qualifies as a balanced diet....

No, I figure we'll get tasered along the way.  It was harder to make a pronounceable acronym out of your real motto.

I'm drinking a cafe con leche with sweetened condensed milk.  We went to a Cuban restaurant for dinner and I got it as dessert.  We also got a piece of Tres Leche cake, but apparently I have to share that with my husband, so I have to wait for a little while.

Happychick - 2009-09-27 8:19 PM Soooo, I figured up my goal for the month and it looks like it will be 105 miles ~ at least that's what the plan says I have to do!   Aaaand this will leave me hanging exactly 1 week and 1 day to go for my half marathon.  I gotta say that I'm pretty excited about it but then I'll have three months to play with and decide if I'm going to do a HIM next year!!!  Can you say "desperately seeking swim skills?!"
OMG!!! 105 miles!!! What training program are you doing? !

WooHoo movin on team 4 page 4 toppage!

Hal Higdon himself!!  My 1/2 mary is Nov 8th so I'm starting to hit higher mileage!

Well you are young and fast.  My mileage for the month before my half last Feb was a lot lower.  Guess I was on the old and slow plan.  It was fun anyway! You will have a great race plus its in Hawaii- what could be better than that!!!

Of course, if people don't hit their goal, it's not just a taser tap they'll be getting. I'm going to come after them with a fully charged cattle prod.

Run, little ducklings, run.
