Second that.  I love lifting, but it has been a few years since I have lifted with regularity (not including my July stint into circuits).  I'll add to my goals that I want to lift 3 times a week.  I'll try to decide on a routine in two weeks (again, after I get back from my conference).  I'll get to put those three years of Men's Health magazines under the guest bedroom bed to use...

Me too! I have let that slip, along with a lot of other things. I felt better all around when I did. I am not too much into lifting, hand weights and bodyweight exercises is more in my line. I am too far from a gym for me to be on a regular schedule. I have all I need here. So, I have no excuse other than slackness.

I'm doing a two day split that looks something like this:

Mon: Chest, shoulder, tris, abs
Tues: Back, legs, bis, calves
Wed: Off (Yoga)
Thurs: Chest, shoulder, tris, abs
Fri: Off
Sat Back, legs, bis, calves
Sun: Off

Starting with one set (8-12 reps) each exercise, 2 or 3 exercises per body part (modified for shoulder injury).  Next week I'll go up to 2 sets, then 3 sets the following week.

I'm in Cam!  I'll post all my stats later.  But like AbbieR 7lbs have found their way to body.  I just started counting calories again.  I was eating way to much!

I weighed in today and not nearly as bad as I was expecting, 133.  Based on the way my clothes fit, it's lack of toning in my hips and butt.  I need to take my pics and measurements and get those posted.  In the meantime, here are my goals and how I plan to get there.  SETTING GOALS is important, but you need to have a PLAN AS TO HOW YOU ARE GOING TO ACHIEVE THEM!

GOALS:

1- Look more defined and toned

2- 128 to 125 with a pipe-dream of 120 (I know its just a number, but wondering what I would look like and if I could ever get there)

3 - Be comfy in my size 4 jeans again.

HOW:

1- Nutrition!  For me, getting results....nutrition is about 90% of the solution.  Starting at my 70/20/10 and as my body responds, increasing healthy carbs again.  1 cheat meal per week.

2- WATER!  Skin looks better, aids in digestion, helps me feel full, healthy for the body!

3- Full body strength training 3x a week (Gat Ripped and Power Circuit Training DVDs), core work 5x a week

4- Cardio with High Intensity training thrown in

5- Daily affirmations, negative self-talk gets you no-where!  Believe and SUCCEED!!!!!

6- Support my BT Body Comp team!

I am on the same boat on getting hubby moving. He saw the dr yesterday and she made a comment a couple times that he needs to drop weight. Blood work isn't back but we are hoping to get moving in the right direction with him as well. Good luck to You!

I wore clothes today that were flattering to my gut (they hid it!) and it is amazing how well my workout went.  Positive attitudes and energy really propelled me today.

SO...

SENDING POSITIVE VIBES TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!  Enjoy your workouts and I can't wait to read your logs tomorrow.

Something to think about:

162,000,000 Google results for "diet programs", 2/3  of Americans are overweight or obese.....plenty of solutions out there, just need to take the initiative!

Scary...
Really sad how few people actually take responsibility for their health and reduce risk factors for health issues.  Some things are really unavoidable because of genetics, no matter how much one tries to take steps to modify.  However, the factors that a person can control with a modest diet and exercise are a huge piece of the puzzle.  Microwave mentality wants the quick fix and not the process of self autonomy and self control.

Had High hopes for a run today - but it is 10:15pm and I am just getting off work. I have worked 26 of the past 36 hours and had a cumulative of 9 hours of sleep in the last 3 days. Body is saying go to bed instead of run. Will make it up tomorrow. Blah.

Hoping this project ends by Friday so I can have some fun.

Wow - that's a rough schedule.  And in your case, sleep definitely should take precedence over training.  Without sleep you're just running yourself into the ground and setting yourself up for illness or injury.

Of course, that's just my unqualified $0.02.  And a disclaimer - I am quite fond of the sleep myself.

Sleep is good and necessary! I missed out on my bike yesterday, too but without any good reason except for being mentally run over.

I have added the goal of tracking my food intake religiously.
