So fellow team members: I realize that I'm behind in my running for the month (a wedding and a business trip messed up my plans!) But I PROMISE to make it up! I don't want to be the one who doesn't make 100%. I love being a part of this challenge because it inspired me to run in the snow yesterday, and it inspired me to add an additional 3 miles to my "usual" 4 mile route (in the same snowstorm). This is great!

Yea Team! (cartwheel) We're number one! (back flip) Woo hoo! (back flip flip flip flip flip into a twist and a perfect landing with my hand held up to signal #1)

(you know that I really did all those moves right? ha!)

Would have love to see you do those moves :-)  Betty Lou - in fact, I just may try to do them to....or not LOL

Anyway - today is a rest day for me - so I'll report mile per month today - 30miles so far!!!  I already halfway to my goal (I love challenges)  This next week is a recovery week for me - so I'll be running - but won't add just a ton of miles to my total.

Come on team - lets move up in the ranking this month and show those other teams what the Midwest is really made of.

I tell ya, with the weather we have to run in, I think we should get extra credit miles! Today, my long run was in balmy 24 degree weather... probably is that I also had to contend with a stiff 20mph wind blowing snow at me for the 2 hours. It builds character, right??

And I'm done for the week... probably running a little behind in my totals, but my schedule has freed up, so I should have no problem piling on the miles from here on out.

Reporting in at 38.49 so far! A little shy of half way for me.

GO MIDWEST!!!!

Lisa,...yeah, in my case, it's all about peer pressure! You should have heard all the ribbing I got from my running group about JUST doing 8 miles Saturday (they all did 12-14). I told them 'I'm on a different training program than you (said with a little snobby whining in my voice)...my REAL training doesn't start until February 28th."...I'm not looking forward to those sub-marathon pace LONG runs!...Worried about this weekend. Don't know if I'm ready to run in single digit weather!...Stay movitated guys/gals! Go Midwest!!!

Looks like we have a really motiviated team - out there running no matter what the weather throws at us!  I hate to abandon ship but I am heading to Arizona on vacation at the end of the week!  Jeez, I don't know if I can run without the sky spitting snow and ice at me.

Keep up the amazing work Midwest Team!!!

So it looks like we pretty much rule. I can live with that. I'm doing another hour run on Thursday, that should put me on track (get it, track - running) That was lame.

i'm only at 9.39 for the whole month, but i was in taper! i will plug out at least 3 long runs yet this month, and some shorter ones, so i should still be good for 40m. i would have pledged 50 or 60 if i hadn't had a race this month.

I think we deserve extra credit for running in this wild weather! Tonight I outran a huge thunderstorm on the horizon. It is currently 58 degrees (on Feb 16!!) but is supposed to be 25 by morning! Currently there are 30 mph winds and it's supposed to be 50 mph winds during the night. It started raining and rain coming at you on 30 mph gusts STINGS! It was just starting to lightning as we finished up!

Hooray for us tough midwesterners!

COME ON MIDWEST TEAM - LACE UP THOSE SHOES AND GET 'ER DONE!!!

Leaving for the moutains and some great Colorado skiing today - so I'm reporting my weekly miles now :-)   I'm at 45 - only 5 more to meet my monthly goal.  Probably won't get any running done the next three days - but I'll finish out the miles when I get back.

Arizona.... Colorado mountains..... I need to get me some of that action!

Instead, I'm leaving shortly to do my longest run ever (18 miles - yikes!) in  6 degree temps with -15 to -5 windchills.  What's wrong with this picture???
