Not bad, it looks like she is fine, but maybe stop in and drop her an inspire. Thanks all, you guys rock! Thanks Chris and all those who posted. I was side swiped by a pickup truck on Wednesday afternoon/evening. I went down hard. The bike is in the shop. Fortunately, I am not. I am very very very thankful that the bike and rider (me!) did not get tangled up in the trailer he was pulling. I think that the driver was just not paying attention. We were both going straight. Both the driver and a witness stopped. Police report was filed. I went to my regular doctor on Thursday morning. I have road rash and bruises on the right side of my back, my right butt cheek, both elbows, my right hand, and my upper lip. I am quite attractive now. No, I do not know how I landed on my butt and got road rash on my upper lip. I also have cuts on the back of my left calf where it looks like my leg and some interaction with the crank. The bike is getting new front brakes (bent to the point that replacement is needed) and possibly a new fork and touch up paint. |

It's been a crazy, crazy process and really amazing to watch unfold. One of the biggest challenges was setting aside our "Western Lense" while looking at design, operations ... everything. A pretty iconic moment: SBUX has been in the news over here during the week. Seems about time you lot paid a little tax on your £1.2 billion UK takings each year!!! |

They are my super busy/long days so I barely login to my work email, never mind anything else. I only found the new thread cause I was looking at the forums...and there are already 3 pages! Holy moly. I too am loving all the SO pics. Allen, nice to see you. Good job on the re-quitting. Yanti, that cake looks absolutely like it would fit in at a pride parade. And blue icing out the nose, fantastic! It's no wonder where your joie-de-vivre comes from! I got on the drainer again tonight, just another shorty 30 minutes. I was going to do a bit of a run too, but the pineapple express has arrived on Track number 1 and I can't see the caboose.... Didn't want to have soaking wet orthotics for work tomorrow... Happy Friday to everyone! Can anyone translate that into something an englishman can understand? effing HILarious! |

"The Pineapple Express is a non-technical term for a meteorological phenomenon characterized by a strong and persistent flow of atmospheric moisture and associated with heavy precipitation from the waters adjacent to the Hawaiian Islands and extending to any location along the Pacific coast of North America" Basically, it means that it rains here for 6 months from Sept-Oct to March-April. Not unlike your weather...It was downpouring here last night and I didn't want to get my shoes/orthotics all wet! |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED I went swimming this AM, and on the board was 5x50's full out. It was during this set that I finally understood the feeling of hip rotation drives the stroke. I'm not sure I can re-create this while swimming at a normal pace right now, but I get it now, so that is a start. |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Before I go out (night before beer ya know ) I'm going to write out my race plan here. It might not MEAN much to you all but at least maybe I'll feel a little accountable? you can whip me if I screw it up.Start out easy. Focus on good form through the first 5k. Take a gel and settle into a comfortable pace. Take water at all stops as there are only a few of them. Work the "hill" but don't waste energy. Be efficient on the gravel portion and the turnaround. Reevaluate/take a gel and set up for a strong finish. Get outside of self and finish unreasonably fast, accelerating through last 100. That pain IS temporary. |
