Today I have run 1.5 miles on treadmill. It's not much but its a little bit further and I went a little bit quicker than yesterday and it felt a lot easier..so that's good.
Purpose warm up for strength session in the gym!!

1.97 for me today Yell. The PLAN was to do 2 miles and rachet up the intensity ever so slightly. Well the dog had other plans and after having to walk not once, but TWICE with the "baggie" to the nearest receptacle I called it done.

09-01: 2 miles, brick after 16 on the bike. Purpose was one last easy brick before my last (at least for now) triathlon of the year this Thursday. (Might still sign up for an Xterra). I was total junk, really hurtin'. Felt like I drank a thousand beers.
09-02: 2 miles, a bit of a recovery run. I had boozed it up pretty good over the weekend, you guys. Waited until evening to do the run, and it was a lot cooler and less humid than most of my recent runs. I really cruised through it, actually quite a bit faster than normal. Probably took my effort level up a little too high in the back half with a race just a couple days away, but such is life.

Tonight will be an easy run where I focus on my cadence, trying to keep it 176-180 spm or so, with some occasional strides.

1.5k for me today. Purpose was base build and little brick run after my bike. It felt good the calve cramp went away after about 500m and then it felt kind of easy. I have to keep reminding myself "run often, sometimes hard but mostly easy." Thanks Salty.

Did 7 today with 10-20 min of WU, 3 x 1600 (400 RI), then 10-20 CD. Not as fast as I'd like, but eh, I did it. Hot, too.

Good job out there everyone!

Added -- Purpose? Try to get my legs turning over faster and building speed/endurance.

Nice workout.  I've got something similar planned for tomorrow.

No run today as it was swim/bike day.

2 miles purpose: Streaking (sorry Salty)

One of the cool things about streaking is that it (or my laziness) forces me to run at times of the day I would never run if I were not streaking.  Tonight I got home at 10pm after being gone traveling for work, including 6 hours of drive time.  Wasn't really looking forward to a run, but once I got out there the stars were amazing, and the air has a hint of fall.  These runs are some of the most special, and the purpose, or perhaps the result, of these runs is the overwhelming gratitude that I can run.

Wait a minute...are we talking about the same kind of streaking I'm thinking about but probably shouldn't be??

4.1 miles. Purpose: Couldn't sleep yet again so I might as well run, right? Secondary purpose was to start realiziing some of the gains from the intervals in my other runs. Didn't quite make the pace that I wanted but was closer than I have been doing lately.

Thanks for making me laugh this morn about the streaking! (Hubby streaked some last year.) That laugh may keep me from losing it with nasal Minnie Mouse today.

Ran 2.77 miles today in hr zone 1-2. Purpose - brick after doing 15 min on trainer.

Whilst running very comfortably I tried to improve my form by a) trying to pick my feet off the floor. Every photo i have of me 'running' looks like I'm just shuffling along (see profile pic) when I am really trying pretty hard! and b) to lean forward a bit to try to keep all effort propelling me forwards as per latest article on the site.

Haha--no.  I'm doing the 30 runs in 30 days challenge.  I've tried it twice before but got into the 20s and bagged it (once a family emergency, once an injury), I'd really like to see how far I can go, but I gotta get at least 30 dang it;

There are a couple of guys in there who are over a year, and Ron is over two (or close).

Yesterday run was 2.5 miles at lunch. Purpose: get a quick recovery in mid day and hope my legs stop feeling like cinder blocks.

Today: 4 mile Fartlek run. Legs felt really good this AM. My watch died after .5 mile which was kind of nice not to be looking at it. I might start doing some more runs with out my watch.

I want to play too but I'm joining in late. Had a minor surgery on Friday so I had to take some time off, but I was back at it today. I was really consistent in August and want to build on that (still coming back from an injury last year).

So, today: 5K (3.1 miles) easy. Purpose: easing back into it.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.
