NAME: Ben / brigby1

STORY: I've been involved in numerous sports all my life. Picked up triathlon about 5 years ago when a friend did and loved it. I don't really identify as a triathlete so much as I'll do each of the three for their own merits plus different combinations of them.

FAMILY STATUS: 35, single

CURRENT TRAINING: I train rather consistently year round, so things are up as they usually are.

THIS YEAR'S RACES/EVENTS: This is moving all the time, but generally is going shorter stuff early season and longer later on.

BODY COMPOSITION: Mostly staying healthy and trying to get faster. Meet Yanti's requirement for the guys of being 6'3".

Ran in the Headlamp Hustle 10k trail run last night up by Madison. Lack of running really showed as that was tough. Not exactly an easy course either. Half true single track and half side-of-the-highway mowing type path across fields.

Also did the Blackhawk Country Roads ride in Rockton this morning, 65 mile route.

Oh geez, I didn't think to take any.  TJ, did you?  (We went to the new Boulder Running Company store, in case anybody's wondering what we're talking about.)  From my perspective, the store was well organized, had lots of friendly and helpful staff, and was HUGE.  If you've ever been to an REI flagship store, that's kind of what this place was like, except completely run-focused.  Clothes were organized by brand, there were probably 75-100 shoe models on display, a hydration bar with available samples, clearance area with some fairly decent deals, an in-ground treadmill (very cool-looking but don't fall off the back or you'll end up in a hole in the floor!), and 4-5 regular treadmills.  Lots of sundries as well: socks, hats, watches/other electronics, hydration gear, etc., etc., etc.  They also have a room where they can do clinics or packet pick-up.  I got a pair of Yankz and a set of Spenco ball-of-foot cushions, and am planning to go back next month to get some shoes. 

And for Monica, met another out there in a fully Betty Designs get up. Asked if she was on the team since she could move along fairly well, but no.

Forgot to mention that I had fun shopping with TJ too AND got a great tip from her on OWS opportunities around here.  I didn't manage to consume either alcohol or coffee; that's probably what kept me from buying a whole lot more stuff!  Guess we'll just have to save that for the next meet-up (grinning and rubbing hands together in anticipation...)

Too late, but at least you weren't for or in your events congratulations!

Part of the swag was a little headlamp. They also started early enough that most everyone could get around before it really got dark out. So more twilight in the later parts. 

I'll find something else to do in the next couple days. 

I was wondering about the viability of single track in darkness as I read this.  Then again, I managed to twist an ankle in complete daylight, so what is the difference, I guess? Will a RR be available? I am trying to gauge other peoples experiences with trail running.
