Expert 823 Stafford, Ks | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread kaqphin - 2007-10-04 10:49 PM Hi Team, Just got back from the Physio... wanted to let you know what was going on with my knee... here is the update I just posted in my log: Physio Update: I have Runners Knee... basically because i have a curvey womanly figure my gorgeous hips mean my legs come inwards natuarally at a acute angle then flare out from below the knee. This fact combined with a weak inside knee ligament from an old injury, inside thigh muscle that doesnt fire AND a strong rest of my leg means my knee alignment sucks and everytime I move my knee the knee cap is rubbing on my joint causing inflamation and subsequent pain. The positive is I have caught it early. Monday before work Im seeing a physio to get a whole bunch of corrective exercises to work on my alignment and get the leg muscles firing correctly. Im also going to probably have to learn to strap my knee so I can do it before training in the long term (possibly) Between now and Monday - no running, some swimming if I want (but with the pull buoy mainly), light riding but not much else... can I have any more injuries, illnesses or health problems? The other positive is I booked in for a massage on Wednesday AND if my knee does calm down over the weekend I wil be able to run some next week... well walk with some running.... maybe. These physio's are fantastic... its a sports med practice and they are ALL used to dealing with athletes... I told her I want to race in 3 weeks... she said I wont say no but ask the guy on Monday once its had a weekends rest... so I shall!!! Fingers crossed for me please! Cat I love a curvey womenly figure! Fingers crossed. Sure you'll be fine for the race!! |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread Morning, team! I started off slow, but I'm going to wrap up the week ahead of the game. One mile Wednesday & three miles yesterday, but this weekend I'm doing a 5K Saturday (just to do it because its a fundraising event where I work) and a 5K Sunday as part of a tri. That will put me at about 33% before October 8. Hooray! Cat- sorry to hear about that knee...but of all the reasons to have a bad knee, that'd be the one I'd want to hear from the doc! Keep up the good work everyone! Kristen |

Expert 957 Charlotte, NC | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread Hey guys--sorry for the late add but I was slow finding the challenge. I'm trying to start off with a bang....65 miles for my goal and almost 16 since Monday. I'm wrapping up my first full season with 5 sprints, 2 Olympics, a duathlon, and my first half-mary under my belt this year. It looks like I'll be doing one more Olympic as I think I'm going to qualify for our Championship Invitational event. I've also got half-mary's coming up on 11/3 and 12/1. I'm a Clydesdale so my miles aren't fast....but they do add up....eventually. By the way...I'm Eric Edited by medic0020 2007-10-05 7:14 AM |

Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread Thanks for all the well wishes... will hopefully know whether I can continue with the challenge after Monday... or maybe I can switch to Elliptical... you never know! I dont think anyone will object.... I found the positive... for someone who has ALWAYS considered myself a non-runner... I guess my injury means I am one now Cool huh? |

Master 1404 Atlanta, Ga | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread hey there Omens.. I am at 14.9 or so, but with 18 big ones planned for tonight (yes, tonight.. friday.. after work.. ugh!) I should be well ahead of my goal for the week and over goal target for the month. My weeks start on Mondays and End on Sundays. I also have a Sprint Tri on Sunday.. so, if all goes as planned, 14.9 + 18 + 3.1 = 36 miles for the week. 36 * 4 = 144.. plus an additional 3 days and I should be good. Of course, things happen, so hopefully there is enough cushion in there to keep me above 120. Keep on placing bad omens for the other teams to see.. I assume some of you saw that I visited each and every team leaving them a two for one omen.. a broken mirror with a black cat in it! Woo Hoo. Keep on Keeping on, and keep running. Run Run Run.. and Run some more.. Ice if you need to, then run again... and again. |

Expert 957 Reykjavik, Iceland | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread It finally has stopped raining, so I went out for my first long run in……a long time. Legs held out ok until 1h then they started complaining a bit, I just ignored them and went on. So now I have almost gained back what I lost earlier in the week GO TEAM |

Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread Just wanted to let the team know there have been a bit of confusion about anyone that joined the challenge late. Mileage for any late entrants will be counted from the beginning of October so goals should be set taking this into account!
Thanks Cat |

Master 1688 ALSAGER, CHESHIRE. UK | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread If you don't understand ask Catherine. Wipe those tears away, Girlie. We used "FROGS" legs in our spells. This is the real power of The Black Magic team ! And to make it worse, we made his foot go out of bounds.
And Catherine's knee problems. Put a spell on that too. |

Master 1397 Granvile, Ohio | Subject: RE: The Bad Omens Team Thread Says a lot about you and your team that you're so worried that you can't win under your own power that you have to resort to casting a spell. Your "Black Magic" team must be pretty sad. So sorry, but we still have a ROCKIN' team! Cast all the spells you want. We gonna kick your butt! |
