Pro 4824![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Houston | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED!Trin2bfast - 2010-01-08 9:49 AM I'm a loooober! If I plan a ride of 1hr+ in the saddle, chamois cream is applied (indoor or out). The drainer can be tough mentally... just try and keep your focus up ~ and try not to simply zone out. Doing the intervals or specific workouts will prevent you from just mind-numbingly pedal at a set pace, which is probably not benefitting your fitness any. Low impact (like the eliptical) may help keep your general fitness up some without further irritating your IT/knee issue. Stretching in the ballet class thing doesn't sound like a bad plan either. Treadmill is a good (lower impact than the street) environment to test the run... just don't push too far or too fast. Good luck. Thanks! Right now on the trainer I warm up in a low gear or is it high gear? With less tension and I add a gear every 5 minutes, keep an eye on my speed and add in some sprints (spent 20 minutes on the big ring last night). I also make myself stay in aero for a certain amount of time, in for 5, out for 5, in for 10 etc. Just to mix it up. If I didn't pay attention and work at my speed I'd be averaging 10 or so. DVDs sound great and I might pick one up but I'm not the only one in the family room. The BCS bowl certainly wouldn't have been my choice but it's not my TV ![]() Hoping all goes well on the eliptical today - not a favorite machine of mine but will hopefully similiate the run enough to give me an idea whether my ITB is getting better before I run. |

Triathlete Nation ~ Texas! | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED!Houstonrider - 2010-01-08 9:49 AM This weekend I'm going to be checking out a new pool for swimming. It's only about 3-4 miles from my house, has 12 lanes, and is only 5 dollars per visit or 40 dollars for the month which includes a weight room. Opens at 5:30am sounds like it may be a good fit. Also have a bike planned with Ikenottswim and a run scheduled. Oh and I have to watch the Eagles beat Dallas on Sunday. You were on tap to have a great weekend right up until the end there... Crash & Burn Mav! First, they play tomorrow (Sat) evening, and secondly... the iggles are going down! Dallas moves on and life is good! Time on the trainer this evening, gym, run & swim, and maybe some more trainer love Sat & Sun. Working a job on Saturday eve/night... so I won't be able to WATCH my COWBOYS pluck them birds... but I will follow along closely on my phone! |

Yes ... feel free to flog me as necessary. I'm a little chilly, I think I may go put on a sweater And they have In-N-Out Burger!... However, I'll take the cold, the heat, and hurricanes... you keep the Earthquakes! Been through a few (a 7.0 & 6.8 in the Hi-Desert & Palm Springs area)...Nope, you can have it! No warning, just shake your fillings loose! But a double-double, with cheese... like heaven! In-N-Out is awesome and I'm willing to put up with Earthquakes for a tasty burger. I would have to agree with Betsy, I'm quite impressed with northerners that train through the winter, having lived and trained through NE winters I feel your pain. Keep up the good work and stay warm. |

I had meetings in the city, so no time for internet cruising and missed about 20 pages of posts. Won't attempt to comment on any of them, but did have a moments pause thinking about the upside of peeing standing up. Meetings were on 57th and 5th. How convenient. Am thinking about switching to a Mac. Bergdorfs is across the street but I'm hanging in the Apple store over lunch. That is a dangerous intersection. Bling galore... We're a mac family, the only problem is a lot of software doesn't work properly on mac's (ie i can't get my garmin, computrainer and printer/scanner software to work properly on it, other people may have better luck). So my work computer (pc) is also my workout tracking pc. Mac is great great for everything else. Very dangerous. I'm in my lawyer's office there at least once a month (and no, I don't have criminal issues. it's for work) and I don't know how they go there every day and don't go broke. Although I'm not that attracted to bling. Cashmere, on the other hand, is my favorite non-wicking material. Gadgets are my real weakness. Didn't know the garmin was iffy with the mac. Will have to look into that. I just got the 310XT - refer back to previous comment about gadgets. |
