If any of you would like to check out the bike course I can drive the course with you on Thursday afternoon.  I can take 3 in my car and if anyone else would like to follow in another vehicle, you're welcome.  I ride the course frequently so I can show you some of the caution spots as well as some of the places you're able to gain a little time.  Just PM me here and let me know.  Thursday will work best for me but I may be able to work it into Friday if that is better for some of you.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the steepest grade climb is on the CDA course?

Thanks!

Looking at my Garmin graphs it looks like the steepest parts are in the 10% range. The worst of that would be the very bottom of the longest climb, coming up English Point.

Thanks Halfironmike and idahodan.  Very helpful and may you have great races at CDA!

I get into CDA on Thursday late at night.  I may try and make a BTer get together on Friday if it happens.

Trilund - Is Ironman Canada as tough as the rest, as far as registration is concerned? That is one I've had on my mind the last couple of years as well. Although, with the "new" Ironman St. George being only a couple hours away from me, that might be my next Ironman endeavor.

Thanks for the Boise description on your previous post. It sounds like it was a pretty fun day to be watching (and perhaps racing).

I think I have gone up and down about every 2 hours, deciding whether or not I am better prepared than lastyear...wow. Would love to try and make it for the BT swim Friday morning...not sure I can. I think I am planning on checking in and swimming on Thursday. Might have to be a last second decision.

T in Liberty Lake - 2010-06-14 4:05 PM BT Get Together?

I plan to swim on the 25th at 8:30am if anyone is interested.  We can meet at the moose overlooking the swim start (if you are facing the lake it's on you left at the end of the big concrete steps).  After the swim I plan to get in line to check in at 10:00am when it opens.

I will be getting in late Thursday so an early Friday swim would be perfe?c?t??.??  I'm in.

You have to go to Canada to sign up. It fills the day after the race at the post race registration. No online entries. Unless you do community fund slot.

It's a public lake. With or without the course, there is a nice, safe out and back along the beach that is just over a mile we swim all the time.

Got in the lake at Sanders on Sunday. At first the cold was shocking, but after I started swimming, wasn't so bad. Wore a neoprene cap but no booties. There were several people swimming. Nice to be out there.

In 2008 and 2009 you could sign up on line for IM Canada the following year. I live in MA and signed up in Sept 2008 for the race in 2009. Last year while I was there the race did not sell out but went on line. The number of registered athletes for 2010 race is about 400 more than 2009 as race fields have increased.

Last year every US IM and Canada had slots that went on line for normal registration other than Kona.

That is my understanding as well...  Remaining spots go online.  I understand it will sell out in approx 30-60 minutes so you have to act fast.  There is about 5-10 from the Tri-Club going in person to sign up.  I may join the fun.  One step at a time...  I have to get through IMCDA first.  Laughing

I think I am also going to swim sometime Thursday afternoon-ish. What time are you planning on being out there?

Thanks for the info on Ironman Canada. It is only about 7 or 8 hours from my family, that is why it is my second choice (behind CDA - my fam lives 20 minutes away).

Just dropped my bike off for transport to CDA with Tribike Transport. Kind of a strange feeling leaving it behind at the bike shop. I will feel better when I see her again in CDA.
