Yesterday's workout?  A "sprint triathlon."

I went to the pool and swam 750m.  Started my stopwatch when I started swimming.  Paused the stop watch when I got back to the locker room from the pool after the 750m.  HAD to change; it was just a tad above 40F outside.  Restarted the stopwatch when I was changed, then jogged about .25 mile to the gym where I hopped on a LifeFitness bike.  Did a 12.5 miler and then headed out for a run.  Couldn't get my GPS in my phone to synch up, so I went back into the gym and hopped on a treadmill for 3.1 miles.  As soon as I hit 3.1 miles, I stopped the stopwatch.  I only paused it while changing at the pool facility.  Total time?  1hr49min flat.  Given the forced exageration of the "transitions," I think it was an ok time.

Thoughts?

That sounds fantastic!!

Thanks!

With Holiday Stand Down here (it's a Navy thing... we have a 24 hour shift every 2nd or 3rd day and no work at all the rest of the days, until 7Jan13), I hope to do a "sprint triathlon" several times over the next few weeks.

Merry Christmas DOWNers! Will this group continue until New Years?

I have been doing pretty well and have lost about 7 pounds. Suspect I sabotaged that yesterday with all the cookies and other treats, but back on the wagon today.

When you don't hit a goal, reset it.  Goal to hit 204 by the first day of spring - my Winter Weight Weeduction (channeling Elmer Fudd - too much time to think and be silly on my run yesterday)

I'm back in...

was doing really well in early fall and had dropped about 17 pounds and really enjoyed being a part of this thread...

... then in early October got sucked into Federal jury duty here in Philadelphia for a trial that was going to take up to 12 weeks.... had to leave the house at 6:30 am and didn't get back to the house until about 12 hours later... very little working out and tough to watch what you eat when you're stuck in a room all day with 16 other people

... so I was dismissed from the jury last week and starting to get back into consistent workouts and Whole30 again!

luckily only seem to have put on about 5 pounds!!

Good luck! Happy New Year!!

Greg

I'm, sadly, not training as often as I'd like.  I am down, though, overall, and I'm holding steady at an unclothed weight of 233#.  That's 8# above my target.

Truth told, it's my work schedule, and not the holiday season, doing me in.  When you're leaving for work at 5AM and returning home from work anywhere from 7 to 9PM, you tend to slack off on workouts.  Still a couple rough patches to get through, but I WILL be somewhere between 220# and 225# by the time I do my next triathlon on June 2.  Hopefully, I'll be there before I run a half mary on St. Patrick's Day.

Well, Friday weigh in - 216.2 - down 0.4 . Considering how this last week has gone and all the cookies and fudge that neighbors delivered - on top of our own baking, that is victory for the week.

Now, I only have a B-day celebration today for my oldest son and then New Years Eve to get through.

As I think Cathy said, I am no where near my goal, but I have not gained over the end of the year.  That is a small success (considering I started the challenge higher than I should be.)

I will be down to 204 again!!!!!

Didn't quite reach my year end goal, but I ended up at 147.2, down 12 pounds.  I'll take that as a win!
