Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official ThreadTobin Smith and I’m racing with bib number 1081 this year. I’m not sure what to think about it. A quick history of this bib number shows that in the 7 year history of this race bib number 1081 has finished six times but in 2006 bib 1081 had to take a DNF. While I should not judge my bib number by one mistake 4 years ago it does suggest a pattern of only being able to finish 3 out of every 4 years. Unfortunately, this is the 4th year. Another area of concern is 1081’s finishing times. For the last three years there has been a steady pattern of this number getting slower and slower. On the bright side the average finishing time for 1081 has been a 12:08, I could be happy with a 12:08. I know the math geeks will point out that 1081 is a triangular number. Triangles have three sides and triathlons have three events so I’m assuming that make 1081 a good tri bib number The history buffs will point out the Louis VI of France was born in 1081. But seeing as I’m not a history buff, especially French history, I have no clue if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Also, Boleslaw II the Bold, King of Poland died in 1081 at the age of 41. I know as much about Polish history as I do french history, but my racing age this year is 41 so I’m leaning towards this not being a good sign. Police code 10-81 is used to communicate that an officer will be at a given station. I’m not sure how this relates to my bib number but its better that being bib number 10-51 (dead body) or 11-26 (abandoned bicycle). (This is so much better than worrying about water temperature) |
