Hi everyone:

I've been alerted (Thank you, Scott!) that the winter BT forums are being closed and the summer forums are starting up. As a result, this forum will soon be closing

The good news is I have applied for a new forum with the same name to start up for summer. I'm hoping all of you will jump to the new forum. Hopefully we will add some new members as well.

All good things eventually end. Thanks to all of you who participated this winter in the Gray Guy/Girl forum, contributing your knowledge, curiosity, wisdom, history, stories and passion to make our little group a pretty good triathlon family.

Hope to see you all on the other side.

As always, happy training and be safe.

Best regards,

Steve

Many thanks for your leadership this winter, Steve! Keep us posted on when the new forum is available and will look forward to re-joining over there :-)

Stu

I dropped .5 again, so good news there. 10

10 hours on the workouts = 20

30 points.

I had a decent weekend of training with some hiccups. I got some weird Achilles pain off my left heal about halfway through my long run. At that point I was about 6 miles from home so I just kept running, which I knew was not the best. By the time I got back to the starting point I was in some serious discomfort. So, I spent a lot of time icing over the balance of the weekend.

Sunday I got in a 2 hour 45 minute ride with some solid hills. I skipped my long ride last week since I was travelling at the Tour of California. I could definitely feel the drop in fitness from missing out last week. I was a a good ride, but pretty challenging.

This is my last heavy week of training before I start to back it off a bit leading up the Boise 70.3 on June 7. So, hopefully my Achilles issue will be gone in time for the track workout Tuesday night.

Have a good week everyone.

Hi All,

Challenge:
No change in weight = 5 points
150 min of training = 5 points
Total 10 points

Another weak week for me. Really no excuse for this one other than feeling unmotivated. More travel this week, but should be time to get out for some runs anyway. I seem to be trading places with Scott. First LA, now Indianapolis. Hoping to check out the White River Greenway.

Have a great week, everyone!

Here's our Tuesday track workout.

Warm Up: 1 mile easy and dynamic running drills/plyos.

5k/10k Group: 1600, 1200, 800, 400 @ 5k pace, 400m walk/jog recovery between each.

1/2/Full Group: 2 x (1600, 1200, 800, 400 @ 5k pace, 400m walk/jog recovery).

Intervals should be run at your current 5K pace.

One mile recovery on completion

Ouch. Looks like a hard one. I'll let you know how it goes

I didn’t used to like to run slow. You begin to recalibrate your needs and wants and if-only you could jog an easy two miles, three times per week. Running is a gift.
