3 x 15' @ 100% on the trainer this morning and a 40' run this afternoon for me.

. 10 miles outside in nice weather running. Bike trainer tomorrow.

Nice job.......

I have a 10 miler planed for me tomorrow but may cut it to 8 depending on how I feel.

This mornings ride was more just a bunch of Z2, getting a good deal of volume there. Still not getting warm enough to go outside. Should at least break over freezing tomorrow though. Might be a bit longer even if it does get warmer as there is a crap load of pebbles and small gravel along the edges of the road. So much that I worry about sliding out just trying to go straight. Not going anywhere until the rest of the snow melts. Might start running some outside at least.

No, I have done 3x 10 milers.  They just seam to be my limit right now so no big push.  On the other hand, I am still targeting them and maybe a 13 mile by the end of the month.  This coming week my bike is going to be the largest volume by far.  I will still run every day and a double on Wednesday.  Which will put me 72 runs in 72 day, all over 3 miles or 30 minutes.

After the week of 2/16 (head cold) swimming is just groovy with 2 to 3 hr a week.  My swim is good and can get fast quick if I maintain what I am doing now.

The bike needs work and because I don’t respond well to the trainer it will take the road to make it happen.  My FTP never seams to matches my race performance.  So something new needs to happen on the bike not sure what but I got some ideas.

Race went well.  Breaks formed early, so it minimized the amounts of attacks and surges.  Finished 3rd in my division and 6th OA.  I was in a group that represented 4th-6th (and 2nd and 3rd div), but  didn't contest the sprint.  I foolishly went on an attack with 1.5 miles to go and it didn't stick...tried to jump back on to the other 2 guys, but I was cooked, and I didn't want to do anything stupid going into the last right hand turn...which was wet.  The guy who finished 1st in our division was in the lead break, got dropped, but still managed to stay away from us by about 150 yards.  Had we caught him, I probably would have sucked it up (also not waste my energy with an attack) and took a chance at the sprint...but all in a good day of racing.  It was fun.

Had a great weekend.   Yesterday rode about 3 hours, was able to hit that power I couldn't do last week.  Maybe mental, maybe mechanical, who knows.   Only bummer was breaking a spoke (3 n a year) on the PT, so have to send it back AGAIN.   And I'm not even riding heavy anymore!  Snuck in a 15 minute run after....

Today ran a solid 10 on the trails, slight negative split with a tougher course coming back.   Then took advantage of our heat wave and did some stand up paddling, then drove straight to the pool for 3500.    Bushwhacked is the word...

Oh yeah, and picked this up Saturday    Foil 20 ultegra.    Took it for a quick test ride, maybe it's that "new shoe" effect but MAN that bike is fast and responsive.

Second the congrats to Adrienne and Jason.  Great racing this weekend!!!!  Terrific results, but even more it sounds like they were well raced.  Awesome.

James - right there with you on the need to make something happen on the bike.  Chanced it today and, while it was a bit slushy and very sandy/muddy, got about 50 miles in outside (while it's not Canada here, it sure isn't Hawaii, either!).  All steady at right around 220W, which for me felt good this time of year.

If I can't stay outside, though, I'm in trouble (Fred, you're not the only one who's not good on a trainer!).  Totally agree with you Fred on needing to get outside.  I just don't do as well on the trainer, try as I might.

OK - now bring on the rest/taper week!  Man, do I need it. A bit tired after the last couple weeks and a race coming up next weekend...

Matt

Great job with that! Sometimes you just go for it and see what happens. Competition can really help to bring things out as well.

Wow- what a weekend, Chris - including the new bike!! That looks almost exactly like the paint scheme as my wife's, so I know it it is one good looking machine - the fit and finish is top-niotch. You are going to love it. How are you feeling today after the big weekend?

Can't wait to read it, Adrienne - 1:25 is killing it in my book. Can't believe that is not even the distance you are really training for. I can only DREAM of sub 1:30 these days. 1:25 is not even within the realm of possibility.....

Great and well-earned results, Jason! This may sound a little weird, but I channeled you a little bit during my hard group ride yesterday. We have a nice, big group (usually 125 riders or more) that switches from winter pace to racy when DST starts (this past Sunday) and I got into the break that always forms with about 1.5 hours to go. I was wide-open for the most part, and the couple of times it got a little grippy for me I actually thought "now what would Jason do?" Since I knew you would be out there racing as well. So, thanks for the motivation out there. Ha!

Edited for name confusion - I think I am still in awe of Chris' big weekend!

Super cool workout. I am a huge SUP fan! (I used to have a SUP I made out of an old windsurf board but due to a uhhhhh tie down snafu, it flew off my car while going 90 MPH...

Great work though, that is a solid day!

Yeah, I (and I am sure a lot of people) have tendency to really bear down and tense up when things get hard. I feel this really saps your energy so it's something I have really been trying to work on. Except maybe in that last bit of a race where you go anaerobic

The swim is ALWAYS a cause for concern when it comes to competing in a triathlon. This is the event for which you need to concentrate on RELAXING.
