Dude - you do realize that as you age - you are going to find less and less women that don't have either a) a child from another relationship or b) a jerk that they were in another relationship with or c) both.  That's the way of the world on the large scale, my friend.  You had better come to terms with that (Prresent company excepted Kiley, Cullen and Wurkit).  I believe our TAN friends are in the minority, in this day and age.  You are how old?

True, true. Never been married, no kids, and no ex-boyfriends who actually care enough to kick someone else's a$$ over me. Though I am one of the remaining few in my large circle of friends who is still single. I know plenty of people who don't have kids, merely because in this area, there are lots of people who've been in school for a long time, or are doing the "career" thing before having kids, but A LOT of people are already married or serious or engaged.

24.

You may be right... but I'm standing firm. I'm not gonna 'compromise'. The ex thing, I can deal with. I'm not gonna let some dbag get in the way of something. It's the kid, and more importantly the fact that it's his. So he could never be completely gone.

Naw, I feel ya. I don't know if I'd want to shack up with a guy who already had a kid. As a female, I would NOT want to deal with an ex-wife who was the mother of the kid and therefore, most likely in the picture. That's just WAY too messy, knowing how women are to other women.

WHOA, 24 is WAY too early to add women with kids in your "A" selection list.  Maybe if you wer 34 you could add them....

Almost all of my wife's coworkers are 25-35 and are unmarried without kids.

chadtower - 2008-06-17 2:52 PM  Boston is, yes, but they are social climbers at least as often as not. That's the problem.

Not as badly as here in DC. Boston is pretty chill. Here, people only talk to you (guys and girls) if you can "do" something for their career. Blech.

BTW - I loved my visit to DC.  GREAT city.....

Oh, don't get me wrong - DC is a great area. I just find that some of the people leave a bit to be desired.

Didn't get a chance to deal with many people.  I just liked the Dupont circle area, Georgetown, the national mall, and the metro.  Just a great city.

I couldn't care less about someone's ex. It's not really my problem until the moment walks up to me or anyone I'm with. Kids are great, someday I may want them. Today isn't that day...neither is tomorrow. Come back in a few years.

Don't get me wrong....I'll never live in the DC/Balitmore area again.   Lived there for a year and people (in general) seemed very standoff-ish to the new person (me).

So I guess I need to learn to go for the ugly chicks?

I'm telling you, go for the hawt chick's copilot. She's so used to going home alone after someone picked up the hawt chick that she'll practically pick herself up.

I'll try, I have an issue with picking the hottest girl in the room. It obviously never works out well.

Just like this weekend. I picked the hottest bridesmaid, just like everyone's dream. I was successful, and it turns out she has a kid and a psycho ex-bf

I've been fighting the urge to contact her all day...

Do you have an issue with the kid or the psycho ex?

Both.

I don't want a kid... especially if it's not even mine. The last one's ex wanted to 'beat the crap' out of me... even though I did NOTHING to warrant that. I don't have patience for that crap.

We'll have to disagree on this one.  I love my stepdaughters as if they were my own, even though their father is a total jerk.  Do we have to deal with him?  Yeah and it makes me angry sometimes and I want to kick his $ss, but in the end, it is worth it because they are great kids.

When I was married the first time, both my ex and I did not want kids.  About six years into the marriage, she changed her mind and wanted kids NOW.  I wanted to plan it out, since I was fairly convinced that I would never have kids anyway.  She couldn't wait, we got divorced, she was re-married 2 years later and had a kid 3 years later.

So, certainly, I did not go looking for a woman with children.  I dated several women that were not parents, I dated a couple that had kids, but I wasn't serious about any of them.  Didn't want to be.  I met Steph and I knew that her prior situation didn't matter.  We fit together.  End of story.

You're young and you stilll have plenty of time and you probably still have plenty of opportunity to find a woman that doesn't have kids.  The Maxim quotient says that you could be dating a 19 year old right now ((Man's age / 2) + 7), so as you are turning 40, you can use this logic to hook up with a 27 year old.  The question at that point is do you want to.  Life is a series of trade offs.  Do yourself a favor and don't discount anyone because they are already a Mom.  You might miss the opportunity of your life.

The entire motorcycle concept would trash the concept for me. Meh. I want zero to do with them and there isn't a chick hot enough to change that.

*Raising hand*.

But it took 5 years before we qualified...  She is an example that life's experiences matures you more than years.

I know you're joking, but it's crap like that, that makes the whole dating thing SUCK for women.
