I can see it both ways. On the one hand, sometimes it sucks to get presents early. But, if she gets it early, she'll have more chance to use it with you and that will be exciting. Personally, I would give it to her early and try to make it special and make a big deal out of it. If you can, have another small thing for her to open on her birthday. This. And even when I was a kid I loved early birthday presents! Don't forget to give your son a little something too, to open on both occasions. Something as simple as a cool eraser is fine ... just something for him, too. My mom has said that when we kids were growing up (I have 3 brothers, all of us close in age), she had to buy gifts for ALL of us on any birthdays, otherwise there'd be tears for sure... |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: TAN 113 TANtamount to Anarchy Apparently, I'm rude and ungrateful. I've gotten 3 text messages in the past two days from a friend who has a job at a car insurance company asking me to go to a website to get a quote and be entered to win an iPad. Apparently, I should do this to help her and she'd do it for me. Today, I replied, "I understand that you want to do your job well, but I would appreciate not getting any more text ads from you. Sure you can understand. " She says, "I do understand, but it's not an ad it's me trying to get friends to help me out and support something I did like creating the campaign. Don't worry, I won't talk to you any more." Seriously? Did I do something wrong? |

I could see one text adking you to help her out and do this but 3 texts is a bit much. Her getting huffy like that seems an overreaction as well. btw Sorry Crowny I got nuthin on the linking data. As Kate said, 1 text asking for help is fine, I have no problem with. Any more than that, and it's annoying. If it were me, I wouldn't have texted back, and just ignored them, but you were by no means out of line with what you said. All that to say no, you didn't do anything wrong, and your friend might want to take things less personally. |
