help me with my question people!

I can see it both ways.

On the one hand, sometimes it sucks to get presents early.  But, if she gets it early, she'll have more chance to use it with you and that will be exciting.

Personally, I would give it to her early and try to make it special and make a big deal out of it.  If you can, have another small thing for her to open on her birthday.

This. And even when I was a kid I loved early birthday presents!

Don't forget to give your son a little something too, to open on both occasions. Something as simple as a cool eraser is fine ... just something for him, too.

My mom has said that when we kids were growing up (I have 3 brothers, all of us close in age), she had to buy gifts for ALL of us on any birthdays, otherwise there'd be tears for sure...

What happened?  Did you have no one to tie up?

Oh I know, you wanted tamales...

Tamales would have been wonderful but.....

I actually needed some rational person to tell me that it might not be a good idea to go do an hour + of spin class after working out with Ming.  Toe held up Ok though.

I wanted to drop my HR and MPH lap data from the crit the other night into a post into the Peleton Forum so that those that don't know what it might look like can check it out.  But I have absolutely NO idea how to do it.

Anyone here know how?

Nobody knows?

Apparently, I'm rude and ungrateful.

I've gotten 3 text messages in the past two days from a friend who has a job at a car insurance company asking me to go to a website to get a quote and be entered to win an iPad.  Apparently, I should do this to help her and she'd do it for me.

Today, I replied, "I understand that you want to do your job well, but I would appreciate not getting any more text ads from you.  Sure you can understand.  "

She says, "I do understand, but it's not an ad it's me trying to get friends to help me out and support something I did like creating the campaign.  Don't worry, I won't talk to you any more."

Seriously?  Did I do something wrong?

Can't you just copy the charts and post it in the peloton forum?  That's probably what I would do.

What she did sounds tacky to me.  I could see one text adking you to help her out and do this but 3 texts is a bit much.  Her getting huffy like that seems an overreaction as well.

Wow, that seems pretty brutal.  How close of a friend is this?  She seems a bit crabby to me.  As Kate said, 1 text asking for help is fine, I have no problem with.  Any more than that, and it's annoying.  If it were me, I wouldn't have texted back, and just ignored them, but you were by no means out of line with what you said.

All that to say no, you didn't do anything wrong, and your friend might want to take things less personally.

It's someone I used to work with.  She's always been prickly.  The problem is the text totally looks like an ad and it bugs me.  I don't like being signed up for mailing lists without my permission and that's what I feel like it was.

Your friends with my ex?

You did nothing wrong! If they were a real friend they would understand, and personally I have no desire to talk to people who act like that. This would be a situation I use my new motto of FTB

What? Why would the other kid(s) get presents? It's not THEIR special day... isn't that the whole point of it being that person's special day?

You people are strange
