Cullen - we've heard of Terry before, no?  I don't recall what...

Re: "It's family" - I really struggle with that concept.  I just...don't care anymore.  Other than my immediate family I guess thru my grandparents...I have no special feelings for them.  They don't even know me.  I don't even know them.  So why fake like I care?

In this case, to respect my wife by caring about her immediate family.  But I agree witcha in general.....

My brother and I?  If we were not brothers, I would not even be friends with the guy.....

i'm getting my car back....

After replacing the front brake pads and rotors, replacing the left front wheel bearing, and replacing the right front wheel bearing... They swapped out wheels with another Fit they had around, and the problem went away.

They put new tires on my car and did an alignment, and it's fine.

They're thinking a belt separation in one or more of my "old" tires.

Awesome. Way to do this backwards, guys.

i'm glad this is all under warranty...

Am I remembering that you wife is from a Pacific/Asian background?

Are you asking the question the right way?  Or does the invitation always have to come from your wife since it's "her" family?

Just curious...

No, he is a white as me!!!!

No, I ask really nicely.  Of course I do because I REALLY did want him to go!  I was really looking forward to it so my invitation could only be interprited as sincere, since it was!  But after the long (two days) time trying to convince him - I do start to lose my enthusiasm...

their loss... literally... how much time was lost by not checking the tires first?

snerk

I pretty much assumed they ruled out bad tires long ago....

They made a ton of warranty money... that's all they care.

i would have thought so, too. i mean... isn't that the first thing you'd check?

AH HA!!!!  I think that was the general consensous yesterday on TAN!  Next time, for automotive issues, hit us up first....

They totally did do it bassackwards.  Check the simplest things first and go from there....

yeah... ok...

you see, he gets more attention that way. It's probably something he learned long ago from his parents. It's not that he doesn't want to go, but he wants to draw it out so you guys talk with him more...

I'll bill you for my armchair psychologist diagnosis later.

That reminds me - they want to do that for my Acura.  They have a recall on the cars for a windshield wiper problem.  I LIVE IN VEGAS!  It doesn't hardly rain.  So I said I'll pass and get it done later if needed.

"OH NO, we got to do it now.  Give us your car for a day, we will give you a loaner, etc....."

I know it's just so the dealership can charge Acura for recall/warranty work....

It IS something......  I have already figured that out.  That's actually why I give him a MUCH bigger break than anyone else.  He had a BAD childhood if what I heard was even half true.....  Abuse and all that stuff......  Constantly put down and belittled, so he has learned to even do that to himself and never be strong and stand up for even the simplist of things....

jdwright56 - 2008-05-08 3:08 PM Just pulled out of Hy-Vee Triathlon in June and will probably be out of Troops and Tr-hawks in September. Most likely I won't compete in the transplant games in July either. Surgery is Tuesday.

Wait, what? I missed the news!!! What's the diagnosis?

There is a tumor in my lower abdomen/pelvis. Theey are going to go in and get it on Tuesday morning. They can't say anything on a diagnosis until they get the biopsy back.

John... you are in my prayers... I hope things come out well there.

Peace.

Dang John.  That is teh suxxor.  Your TAN family will be praying, meditating, sending good vibes and anything else spiritual, emotional and other for you.

Maybe you can jock strap a few events if they are close enough to home.

So I spent 3HOURS last night looking for a hawaiian shirt for my son..  Tomorrow is hawaiian shirt day at school..  NADA.. ZIP.. ZERO..

Today at lunch I drove thru small town traffic, grabbed a chicken sadwich from a drive thru, went to the Goodwill (recommended by a coworker)..  Found 2 shirts for $6.45 after tax..  Drove thru traffic again, text messaging..  Managed to get my car moving from 3rd gear from stopped at a traffic light  AND  made it back to work before the end of my lunch hour..

I RULE!!!!!!

NOICE!!!!!
