Temp on weather.com says mostly sunny 68 degrees 0 chance of rain and S at 7mph. Temp is warm going into Friday but seems to drop 10 degrees going into Saturday. Ideal racing conditions for me personaly coming from San Francisco.... plus I'm a ginger so that also.

Would anyone be willing to pick me up a cycling jersey when out there?  They ran out last year.  (Last year's did not have the year so I assume this one will not either.)  PM me if you are willing...  Will paypal you for the cost plus shipping to FL (or I can give oyu our UPS account #).

Thanks...

I've had a few people offer.  I'm all set I think.  Thanks everyone.  Have a great race.  You're gonna love it there...

73 and 30% chance of rain. Flyboy was right. The weather has changed everyday. Looks like they won't know the weather until day before race. Let's hope the temps continue to be forecasted in the low 70's.

A little rain would not be horrible.  You don't want wind at CDA.

Best of luck, everyone!

I agree, I am praying for very little wind.  Looks like the swim is going to be chilly as well.  No amount of heat is going to warm that water up to 60 now.  I hope it reaches 56.

Looking forward to this, butterflies everytime I think about this weekend!

So basically I'm in freak out mode. I try and tell myself not to get this way. The taper is driving me crazy, the almost no effort training and then sitting around. I'm having a hard time finding things to do. You can only go over your packing list so many times before you go crazy. Of course I think I will still forget something.

x2.  I'm finding it extremely difficult to take it easy, especially riding (when I see a bunch of rabbits to chase down).

Whoa it's only Monday guys. It doesn't get any easier. Wait until you get to athlete check in and see everyone running swimming and biking. Try to stick to your plan. Everyone is doing something different but the worst thing you can do is over train this week. Unless your in my age group.... Then I'd recommend a nice hilly century to call the nerves.

I've always loved this encouragement piece for those of us doing our first IM.  Thought this was the appropriate time to re-post.

I am by no means an expert on CDA. Just wanted to say to be careful at the first bike aide station at the top of the hill. Voluntered there in 2010 and saw some bad wrecks. Traffic both ways. Keep your head up and be careful in that area. jealous of you guys. Have a great race to you all - you bunch of superstars.

Is that aid station still there in the new race course?

Sorry not sure. If you go out by the lake out of t1 then it is. The aide station i am reffering to would have been at the top of the same hill that is on the run course. I have not looked at the race site this year.

Reality really hit yesterday when I got the email - "TriBike Transport has picked up your bike..."

But the mind has definitely gone. Went for a 90 minute swim and lost track of time - ended up swimming for 2 hours...

Time to go read a book -- or watch a movie -- or watch a movie while reading a book -- but not while on the stationary bike...

Let's do this!

Yep, the first 14 miles of the course didn't change. Still goes out to Higgen's Point and back. Kstater's right, keep your eyes open at this aid station. On a more fun note, rode thru town this afternoon and the IM village is going up!

It still should be according the the course map.  Pretty busy place.

group swim for the out of towners from Iam tri both Thursday and Friday morning at 7am.  We are meeting at Indepence Point at Mudgey & Millie on the corner of the steps.  It was suggested we have a mass start for practice, so please be ready to start swimming at 7:15am.

The local tri group is putting this on. We are trying to get about 100 people there. mass start then you can swim the distance you want. it is also a good time to practice your swim drafting. the point is just about 50 yards southeast of the Ironman transition.

If some want to go for a short bike ride in the eveing we could meet at the same spot and go for a ride. Just let me know.

I was really hoping the forecasted sunny days would help the lake warm up, but it looks like that will probably not happen.  Glad to hear from those of you that have swam in it recently that it is not as bad as it could be.
