I also want to add this to my shopping list:

That may...uh...scare some people off from certain activities.

No silly, you don't wear a bathing suit for those activities. Or wait, do you?

That's what I've been doing wrong!

Ouch. I forgot to check weather.com before I headed out for my 90 minute run this afternoon at 4:15. 94 degrees. I am toast. I think I lost two pounds. For the last three miles, I kept telling myself, "Just stay in the box; stay in this box" and "If it's hard, it's good."

Yeah, so the 90 minute run took me 100 minutes. It was definitely hard.

A day off work today to go to the school concert, my presence is required at the lunchtime and evening performances!  Yikes!  Not enough wine in the world my friends!

So did I get to sleep in - er no, was up at 5.45am to do 45mins on the drainer - loved it, every second song cranked up a gear.  Sweating by the end and proud of myself! - that's a rarity!

I then drove to a friend for coffee, she makes the best in Melbourne!  Then home and decided to rearrange Artemis' bedroom furniture, it was cramped and messy, now it's beautiful she'll be so happy!

Mmmm a day off technically is always harder work that work itself.  Darn it.

I cannot believe I'm doing a HM on Sunday - what was I thinking!

Two concert performances sat through.  The evening one my girl had a solo singing part and she brought the house down - a star is born!  Watch out Adele!

It was nice to catch up with other parents and neighbours, great community spirit at our school.  Love it.

A late night for the little ones - 10pm, will take her late to school tomorrow and be late for work - oh well!  The boss is away....

just checking in to say hi! I"ve been keeping up with the training advice and miscellaneous shenanigans via email updates.  Vaca is going ok, boating is on hold until the mechanic gets over to change the oil...he was supposed to do it LAST WEEK and still hasn't been by, so our plans have gotten a bit messed up.  Today I'm contemplating a little bike ride while hubby sleeps in.  I did run Tuesday and did horseriding yesterday, so over all I think I'm doing ok with the training.  Haven't been in the water in a while though...good thing it's a sprint tri next weekend and not the Oly!!!

Well like they say, a bad day of vacation is better than a good day at work, right? Glad you are staying positive about it, AND still trying to get some training in.

We are going up to western Colorado this weekend for a trip my DH has REALLY been anticipating. No family obligations, no race (sigh), no agenda, just go.  I'm going to miss out on my long bike because I don't want to ask him to bring my bike along. Maybe I'll do another drainer session tonight but just did one last night Undecided. Masters swim again tomorrow morn.

I'm still not quite there yet -- I slept nine hours last night, lost another pound, and my leg muscles are still cramping a bit. I think it was a good experience, actually. My hamstrings started cramping the last mile and a half, and last night, before falling asleep, was miserable -- toes, calves, quads, hamstrings -- everything was cramping, just one thing after another. Even my arms and back are sore. It was brutal.

I'm back at work. Some students are here -- fall athletes. I saw a group of soccer girls last night, and I, feeling totally beat up from my little run, asked them how long their work out had been that day. "Only four hours." Only???? They are alternating six hour days (triples) with four hour days (doubles). The only consolation was that they said they were about ready to die out there yesterday afternoon from the heat, too. Their coach was yelling at them: "I don't care if it's 60 (what it had been the day before) or 100!! Get out there!"

I should put that on my Road ID. lol

School starts next Wednesday for us. My kiddos had their first day of school today. Jayson was so cute; as he walked out the door, he said, "This is going to be the best day ever." And then when we were getting out of the car at school, Ben accidentally shut the car door on Jayson's foot! Not funny, but ironic. Because the first day of school didn't start out that well -- tears and crying. But he was fine once we got to his class.

Been doing well on my training this week, thank goodness, just got back from a just over 4 mile run, had thought about doing a full 10k but not too much too fast I told myself.

This is my birthday gift to DW been putting it all together this week while she is at work, still  need to true the wheels but it's good for show:

I've been seeing so many first day of school pix on FB.  Those were always fun days. Your soccer-girls reminded me of a funny story.  So 3 years ago we sent our youngest off to college for the first time.  He drove from Nebraska (where we lived at the time) to Irvine, CA by himself with his truck weighed down with all of his college necessities.  So he got to school and who helped him move in to his room? The girls soccer team! He has always been a bit of a ladies man...
