Dangit! I was going to ask him about this "feeling" I got today when I fired up my toaster oven. I was watching my English muffin get all toasty and crunchy and I started feeling .... aroused. Maybe it was hunger, but that little Hamilton Beach with those glowing coils, sleek lines and downright sexy chrome finish was working me like an handful of Viagra and a dozen oysters. Is that considered deviant behavior or am I good to go? Is your toaster sentient? Can it give consent? I don't know, man. A toaster seems kind of ... waaaaay too hot, and tough and wiry to boot, but whatever floats your ... uh ... boat. |

My first reaction is to just keep it in the bedroom and then you won't have any problems, but I recognize that's a short sighted view of the topic. If you're in a same sex relationship just walking down the street holding hands could cause an incident and that's not right. I can't imagine the dynamics in a team sport environment. I do absolutely agree with one thing I learned in this thread and there is no possible scientific evidence you can offer that will change my mind. The Huskers ARE going to win a National Championship this year!!! |

It was an alt for someone who was previously banned from the the forums for creating an alt account to post anonymously. Normally that would result in an immediate and permanent full ban from the site, but this person had a fairly long history of logging their training here. We agreed to just institute a forum ban to allow this person to continue to log their training. He violated that agreement and has now been completely banned from the site. *BOOM* Roasted. |

It would be great for other LGBTs looking for such people to admire/inspire. It would be great to normalize the dialog with normal people. It would be great as a start to move the issue to a non-issue... but to change the mind of someone that thinks it is a choice, doubtful. I find it more likely for it to be held up as more example of what is wrong in this world... as it is done right now. You're taking the short view. I'm taking the long view. Of course people whose prejudice is strongly in place will not change their minds. But rather than having fertile grounds in which to plant their ideas into the next generation or two, the kids/grandkids of those people, having seen GLB people in all kinds of settings, where they act and look no different than those around them, will not accept those prejudices so easily. We have seen the same thing in racial relationships in the last 50 or so years. No, actually, I was taking the long view. |
