MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks mindji - 2008-02-03 7:30 AM Hello Team Swimming Rocks, Mindji is Peggy and I am a brand spanking new to triathlons. In fact I haven't even done one yet, but 2008 is my year.. I have always been a swimmer and then due to a lack of time, pool etc....I turned to running. As for biking, I have always biked. I am new to beginner triathlete.com so I am slowly learning how everything works. I decided to jump in to the challenge and chose swimming because I want to increase my endurance base this winter. I also want to drop a few pounds, that pesky belly ...Anyhow, I hope that you are all patient with me. I feel overwhelmed with all the forums and threads and such that I am afraid my posts will get overlooked, so for now, I'll post here, with TEAM SWIMMING ROCKS. I am quite the individual when it comes to sports....hey, biking, swimming and running, but I AM a team player so I will try my hardest not to let my team down. Later Peggy Peggy, welcome to BT. We were all new at one point or another and the one thing I have learned from BT is that we all help each other and there is no dumb question, but you might get some interesting responses. All in good fun and humor. If you need help with logging just let us know and we will be glad to try and guide you. Oh, by the way. Posting in the challeng forum is the most fun. You were pickin' on my while I was away, girls . Uhhh... if you throw me in the pool, Dee, I shall swim!!! On the other hand, paybacks are... well, you know... and if I push you on the bike, you might fall . Steve... congrats on the PR . Oh, and the Nemo with splashes list is coolmolicious, Dee!!!!!! Thank you so much. Let's split the team in half. I'll take up to medic0020 and you can take from yourself on down with checking the totals in the spreadsheet each Sunday evening. That is the hardest and most time consuming task. You can crack the whip at any team member you think needs it and Inspire away to your hearts content the whole team. LOL |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks D001 - 2008-02-03 1:45 PM jacsuza will be joining your team! (I've added the info to your spreadsheet.) Hey did you keep us in alphabetical order? I worked hard at that. The librarian in me wants order, order, order. If it's not, I'll send Mila after you with her pink whip. |

Hey did you keep us in alphabetical order? I worked hard at that. The librarian in me wants order, order, order. If it's not, I'll send Mila after you with her pink whip. Think of it this way: It's people like me who give job security to librarians. LOL I thought about putting in alphabetical order, actually. Then I decided to just put all the new entries at the bottom of the rosters and let the teams all sort it out, (or not,) and I went back to do some more work. (The work that pays for my BT time....) As for the little pink whip, I'm not a'skeered of it. I've got a few whips of my own these days. LOL |

Pro 4216 Sous Mon Diadème | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks I logged another swim today but didn't go to the fancy pool so it was 1050 yards instead of meters. Since my goal is in meters, I'll convert it. Of course, if I leave it in meters it looks like I'm a faster swimmer .

Veteran 202 Tucson | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Hi all, I'm really Suzanne, started thinking about doing tri's a while back, found BT in Sept. and am signed up for my very first sprint tri next month. (YIKES!). Of the three, swimming is by far my weakest, and the one that I have the greatest challenge getting done. (Thanks John/tntexpress for pointing out the challenges!) I need to get in the pool, regularly, and build up my stamina. My goal is to exceed the 8 hrs, 15 mins of swimming that my training plan calls for this month. |

Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Oh, and an introduction to my teammates, since I don't think I know any of you. I'm Chrissy, I live in VA outside of DC, I'm 27, I used to be a dancer (so I don't have a "traditional" athletic background of any kind) and then somehow got sucked into the world of tris. Did my first sprint last August and decided to pick a race with a rather treacherous bike course! I finished and I wasn't DFL, so that's all the matters Did my next one two months later. Did a 10K in December. So now I continue to keep getting conned into all sorts of things. The Cherry Blossom 10-Miler in April, and a HIM as a relay two weeks after that - I will be doing the swim portion, hence my reasoning for picking swimming as my challenge. I may end up having to up my goal. I am a pretty decent swimmer, and can definitely finish the distance no problem, and I was respectably fast for a newbie, in my first two tris. So now it's a question of getting my time down. Edited by wurkit_gurl 2008-02-04 7:47 AM |

Extreme Veteran 877 Pa | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Logged another 1400 yards this morning. I was awfully tired from staying up later than usual to watch the Superbowl. I didn't fall asleep until after (way) 11 and got up at 4. I must catch up on sleep tonight. I'm attempting to get 39% of my swim goal done by the end of this week, which will leave me with 69% of the month left to swim 61% of my remaining goal. |

Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Hi everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself. This is my first challenge and it couldn't have come at a better time, since I'm just getting back to swimming after a few months off. I've been training for my first half marathon. Running used to be my weakest sport, but I think that has changed . While training for the run I've put everything else on the back burner and it's time to get back to it. My goal is in hours because I travel a lot, so much of my swimming will be done on a tether. I also am taking a fitness swim class when I'm in town, but will only count the hour of class as a half hour swimming since we do other things as well. Will be on the road for a couple days, so probably won't log any more swimming until the end of the week. Don't worry though I wil definitely get my swimming in :D. Looks like we're off to a great start! Good job swimmers! Roni |

Champion 5117 Brandon, MS | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Man, already to page 5 and I've been silent. I'm such a slacker. Anyway, I'm Bill, and this is my second challenge. My first was as a proud member of Team T.I.T.S. last month, and I was amazed at how much cylcing I was able to put in just because I was accountable to a team. Now I look back and see I seriously neglected the water in January. So, time to correct that and start putting the laps in. Love the team name since I pretty much felt like a rock in the water this morning. I managed to get two miles in, but it was at a pace about 8-10 seconds/100yds slower than what I like to do. Seeing as how I just topped my entire January pool yards by 100 and I was still full of frito pie and Abita Turbodog from the Super Bowl, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Good luck, all. Looks like the team is off to fantastic start. |
