Master 1467 Small Town | Subject: RE: ZzzzzzZombies Team Thread Question: So the challenge says Run/Walk/Elliptical - so can I simply add my miles that the elliptical says that I completed? I know it's not truly equal distance when it comes to Run vs Elliptical. But... just curious

I think you can add the elliptical miles. The challenge is run/walk/elliptical since some people use elliptical instead of running, some people do the run/walk so it was to help include everyone who wanted to participate. I would think though you could use them - ask Cat (Kagphin) she would be able to answer it for you though "officially" Stacie |

Running, walking, elliptical and water running can all be included dependant on your individual training goals BUT they will need to be logged as a run in your training log So, just be sure to log it under the running part in your training log as opposed to Other Sports. Keep up the good work everyone and be sure you're posting on the spreadsheet - let's get 100% from all ZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZombies! |

Master 1843 Roswell, GA | Subject: RE: ZzzzzzZombies Team Thread So ZzzzzzzzZombies - let's get some communication going - what's everyone have on tap for today? And let us know if you're on track to meet your ZzzzzzZombie Run goal! I did Masters Swim this morning and tonite I have a 45 min run in Z1-Z2. And I'm definitely on track, actually ahead of schedule to meet my 40 mile goal. I think by this Sunday I'll have 27 miles in. |

Master 1467 Small Town | Subject: RE: ZzzzzzZombies Team Thread I haven't run at all this week - I've had the whole week off, which doesn't translate to more time - it translates to taking care of my daughter. Normally I'd go for a run with her in the stroller, but it's been raining. Friday my daughter goes back to preschool so I'll have time then. My Plan: Friday I'm doing a distance ride and maybe a short run too. I work Saturday where I'll put in 5-7 miles on the treadmill. Sunday I'm either doing a 10k run or a sprint tri - I'm too indecisive. Monday I'll put in a few miles running too. |

Since my goal is 100, I am over 28% for the month, so I am pretty close to being on schedule, or maybe just a touch ahead. Great job everyone! I don't think we will win anything for chattiness, so lets win for running!!! |

Veteran 271 Middle Tennessee | Subject: RE: ZzzzzzZombies Team Thread Married 9 years (2nd time) 1 daughter, 1 step-son, 1 grandson, 1 step-step-grandson, 1 step-granddaughter on the way (whew). I am a manager for a cable company (I really should be working now). My first season of tri's just ended. It was a great experience, and if you look at the events I've completed in my log, you will see that I am kind of compulsive with it. I may not win any prizes with my speed, but I really enjoy the journey. |

Regular 75 Kimberly, WI | Subject: RE: ZzzzzzZombies Team Thread OK - Get to know your fellow Zombies? I'm in. My name is Andy. I'm 35. I live in NE WI. I'm married (13 yrs) w/two children - ages 5 and 8. I started running in May of 2007. I didn't have any experience and I didn't have a workout plan or goal. But I wasn't happy with my weight and I knew I needed to do something about it. Then in late June of '07, I connected with a friend from high school (jszat) who was competing in an area tri (High Cliff). He told me about this website and it was just what I needed to get "serious." Since then, I've dropped 35# and have "competed" in a couple of 5ks, a 10k and just last month a half marathon! No tri experience yet. I'm a decent swimmer but I need to get a little more confidence/"time in the saddle" on the road bike before siging up for that first event. I'm excited about this challenge because it'll get my fall/winter running schedule off to a good start - 70 mile goal. And by the end of the month, I hope to have completed over 700 miles running for the year. Edited by HammerOZZ 2008-10-09 6:06 PM |

I'm pooped and will take tomorrow as a rest day! I'm planning a long bike ride for one day of the weekend. I live in a northern suburb of Washington DC. I'm partnered for 3.5 years. I have an almost 17yo boy (HS senior) and an almost 12yo girl from my previous marriage. This was my second season of triathlon. I did 2 sprints last year and 3 this year. Next year I'm looking to do 3 sprints and an Oly. Running is probably the hardest event for me right now. Biking is my best. Thats what I love about these challenges, for me at least, they push me to stick to my training and reach for new levels! No running for me today, swim tonight, maybe a run tomorrow morning, then a nice bike ride with friends to take advantage of indian summer. Longer run Sunday (start of new training plan!) What does everyone else have planned this weekend? |
