Put me down for 12,500 - considering the most I have done in a month is 4,000 - I think that it is a pretty good goal.   And the rest of you basturds better not let me down or there will be hell to pay.

Looks like macaco and I can swim together. I'm in for 10,000 yds since I've only been swimming for a month.

On a different, semi-funny note, I'm still a bit conscious in my trainers since they're rather low cut at the waist and high cut on the legs. Anyhoo, I moseyed on out to the pool (I swim at DU - University of Denver) and lo and behold there were bleachers FILLED with a couple - few hundred sorority girls having some sort of function. Since I survived that, I think I got over my self consciousness!!

By the way, in case it's not evident, I have male parts. Go Team DY!K!!! (or whatever we're calling ourselves).

Put me down for 18000. May be a stretch but I think it would do me good to shoot for that goal

And Renee, it is NOT Team Testy. We haven't officially named the team, but it definitely ain't that.

Whaddya think guys? There's "Team Dy!k" as mentioned earlier, or possibly Team Testes, or may I submit:
 The Buoys.

geeez you guys, talk about feeling presured to swim!! Wheewww, I`m a slack peice of work with getting to the pool, especially this month while my hubby is away and I have no babysitter. But, I get two days a week to go until he gets back at the end of the month, so I can add some yardage but not alot. Here is my weak, weak, weak, promise.....6000meters! Sorry, but I`ll be doing lots more bike and a hell of alot more running this month to make up for it. If this is to pathetic don`t feel bad with not even letting me sign up...no hard feelings.
I`m almost embarresd after seeing people put down such a long distance...but I`m no Ironman, just a sprint person.

I want in too- for the girls team. I vow to kick some ass (probably my own) with 16,000 meters (i've only been doing two miles a week, but since it's my second month of tri training, I'm ok with that) I think I could do significantly more than that, but no promises.

We go to the pool, okaaaayyy!

OK, put me down for 18,000 yds since I have my first tri of the season in about a month. Also I'm going to do the swim leg in a relay tri with my bro and his fiance.
Gotta get faster....

Okay folks, as of about 11pm tonight I've got the men's roster updated. I've put everything into a spreadsheet online to make updating easy. Just hit the link and you should get a page with 2 tabs at the bottom...Team DY!K and Team Chyck. The women's roster needs to be completed with anyone that signed on to the challenge after about 2:30pm. I'll update the page each Monday morning with weekly totals.

Okay sign me up for the ladies team.

Based on what I am doing now and plan to be doing later this month, put me down for 30,000 yds. Hopefully I'll blow past that goal now that I am Masters Swimming.

Right after this post I expect to see an agressive goal from my partner in the 5 K swim. September is going to come fast!!!!!!! Remember swimming is FUN!

Men, watch out. I'm already ahead in my training. Bru-haha.

What's the saying again...

women rule and men...put pictures of their speedo-clad bums on their avatar in mourning of losing the swim challenge.

or...drool. whichever.

I'm already 3 days behind!  Aaack!

Okay, not a swimmer here, so I need the push... I'll set a goal of 12,000m.... while that doesn't sound like much, that will more than double the amount the swimming I've ever done in my life in one month.

And with softball starting up 3 days a week, this will be as much a time management challenge as much as anything else!!

Ok, this is a lot of reading that I don't want to do. What happens if I don't meet my goal/the girls don't beat the boys? I want in, but my boyfriend is PISSED that he has to take a pic of me in spandex so that I can post it on the internet. I'm guessing that would go double for me in a swimsuit. Only one 'close enough to nekkid' shot of me on this site please....
