Master 3195 Just South of Boston | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 I finished stage 2 over 10 hours ago, and my legs still feel like lactic acid producing machines. Revolver tomorrow is horrifying to think about. hoping tomorrow AM's swim makes things feel better, for a while at least. |

Expert 1484 | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 Did stage 2 today, got a flat a bit over an hour in. Oddest thing was the tube was leaking at the base of the valve. I'm running my track bike on our CompuTrainer so getting it off, getting the rear wheel off, finding out the tube I put in had just one size too short valve for my pump, finding a CO2 to use and realizing I have no idea where my valve extenders are, then warning the tire back up and calibrating the trainer again... #firstworldcyclistproblems |

Expert 1480 Somewhere in the Swamps of Philly | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 Stage 2 in the books and like everyone else I am thrashed. I've done 3+ on the drainer, but this was much harder. Can't. Imagine how tomorrow's 5 am revolver will go. |

His ftp/kg is 6. Has to be a pro or dang close to it. Threw down 409 on islagiatt http://www.trainerroad.com/career/Cyclopaat He's a Knight of Sufferlandria. So he's one of these: http://www.thesufferfest.com/about-sufferfest/knights-of-sufferlandria/ Knighthood is nothing to scoff at, but with a trainer it's important to remember that it's VIRTUAL power, not actually power as measured by a powertap, quark, etc. His trainer is actually still listed as beta, meaning the slope of the speed-to-power conversion hasn't been confirmed. Elite pros are likely in the 5.0-5.5 range. No one has an FTP of 6 W/Kg... What's more impressive to me is he did ISLAGIATT as a BONUS video at his knighthood effort. That's right... he had already done 10 videos, then he added a 2-hour video on the end. Total TSS of 945 for that day! |

Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 I don't know what it is, maybe because I can focus for just one minute at a time and I know rest is coming, but I love Revolver. Ya know, "love" in that weird way love. I killed it. I soaked my floor and nearly lost my lunch and dinner, but for me I killed it. I wobbled back upstairs and had the email waiting for me saying Stage 3 is complete. Now 23 hours of rest. |

Veteran 274 State College, PA | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 Revolver, oh how I despise you. You would think a short 45 minutes would be heaven after yesterday's two hour slug fest. But no, I swear today's stage lasted even longer. I was going great until lap 12 when my legs came unhitched, I managed to get it back together for the last 4 laps and actually finished strong, relatively speaking. IF 1.04 with a TSS of 85 |

Member 32 Michigan | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 Revolver is done! I dropped my % to 90, but then rode a bit over the assigned level on most of the intervals. My HR was still 170+ for the last three intervals. That is one tough workout. Now a full day of rest..er..work, I mean. |

Im right there with you, I just look at the timer and know that I have to hold it for another "few" seconds. I do admit to having a garbage can next to my training, its been unused...... so far. |

Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 Last night was the first Sufferfest I did with the actual video too. I broke down and downloaded it because I wanted to see what it was like, and I didn't feel like watching Breaking Bad at the moment. I loved the video. Whether it was inspiring to watch people biking or the music or what, it really made the ride a lot more enjoyable and it went by quicker. I'm going to have to grab a few more this week so I can make it through all this. |

Expert 1480 Somewhere in the Swamps of Philly | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 Revolver in the books, but performance was not optimal. IF of .98 tells me that stage 2 left me depleted. Never did Revolver before - man that just packs a helluva wallop in 45'. |

Master 3195 Just South of Boston | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 Went to masters swim today, and whle tired (times showed that!) the water made the legs feel better. Im sure tonights beat down at the hands of Revolver will swipe away any good feelings from swimming, but its helping now. |

How they can race hard for weeks straight is beyond me. Just imagine doing what we're doing, but going for 3-5 hours a day instead of one to 2! I'm sure there is plenty of "sitting in" the peleton for good portions of the race, but I can't even begin to imagine the stress of a climbing stage where there really is no hiding. It's mind boggling to think of how strong these guys really are. |

On average 1500 TSS a week. Even "just sitting" in the peloton isn't easy. Exactly! Average daily TSS 250-300, peaked out at 450, with max CP20 at over 390 watts...Holy cow! I'll hit 842 this week from Revolver through Violator. Total will be around 880 from ISLAGIATT to Blender and that will be far and away the hardest week of training (at least on the bike) that I've ever had. My best 20 minutes of the ToS will certainly be from Rubber Glove, at 294. Geesh, just another 1.2 watts/Kg and I'll be ready for the tour, right? ummm, wrong... |

Extreme Veteran 2263 Ridgeland, Mississippi | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 Even if I had the physical ability to hold the watts those guys can hold, I would still chicken out when they start barreling down a mountain with switchbacks! I can count on one hand the number of times I've gone faster than 45 on my bike, and it was terrifying every time. |

Veteran 1900 Southampton, Ontario | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread 2014 took care of Hell Hath no Fury today. Not too bad considering my legs felt a little Jello'y still from Revolver. How is everyone planing on running Extra Shot and the Wretched? Is it a straight up back to back or can you take a break between? I looked in the rules and didnt see anything concerning double days. |
