BTW, Just did my first race where I ran into some other BT'rs. Wouldn't have known them but through a tatoo on "Dexter" and a BT jersey on "Marmadaddy" How bout we get some BT temp Tattoo's and wear them on our calves so we can see each other while racing? I don't have any BT wear. |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid I think BT swim meet ups is a great idea where we set a time, have someone make a sign and see who shows up each morning. Meet up at the Athlete dinner and pancake breakfast as well sounds great. I will wear my BT tri top on the run but a different top on the bike. It is weird to "know" others on BT and go to a race, pass then many times and not know that they are the person you know from BT. |

I think most everyone here will be doing a swim at some point so that may be the best time to put names with faces to start the weekend. |

Extreme Veteran 398 Sea Isle City, NJ | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid Hi guys. Anyone else register through Active.com last year? If so, do you know where to find the confirmation number? When I go into my account and pull up this registration it gives me the print out of all the info I selected (ie, name, job, life history, shirt size, ect) but I'll be damned if I see any confirmation number listed. Only reason I ask is that is says you need to bring this if you registered this way in the Athlete's guide. Thanks for the help! |

Only reason I ask is that is says you need to bring this if you registered this way in the Athlete's guide. Thanks for the help! After you registered, Active sent you two emails, one which was a registration confirmation and one that was a payment receipt. I found a confirmation number on the payment receipt - I'm not sure if that's the confirmation number they want, but that seems to be the only one I have. |

I'm not sweating it though. I know I'm on the particpant list, then I'll have a bib#. The only other place I can think of would be my butt cheek, and I just don't know how visible it will be... Yes it would be weird but if you have no bangs we'd know it was you walking around but out on the course we'd miss it. Maybe your left calf and your left butt check I've been telling my kids I want to do something unique for IM with my hair and all my ideas they keep saying no Mom don't do that. But reality is we swim with swim caps, ride with helmets and run with hats so no one will see it any how. I do have really short hair for a women so maybe that is unique enough. |

Member 5 | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid Do you have the link for their website on the wheel recommendations? I have been going back and forth with a full 808 setup or the 606 setup. I would like to see what they recommend and what they recommend for other IMs. Looking forward to July 20. |

3 | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid This will be my 4th IM LP using 404's front and rear. You see a bit of everything on the course, from discs and 808's to 303's etc etc. Personally, with all the climbing on this course, I would go with a lighter set up over more aero. That's one opinion. For what it's worth my times on the course have ranged from 5:35-5:50 in the times I've done the race. Hopefully, that will give you a point of reference. 19 days to go...... Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid Had an interesting discussion over on ST about LP tapering and training during that time. The thread was all over the place ..... but wheels came up (again). The basic gist is to race the fastest thing you have. So for me that would dictate running my 999's on race day on my road bike with my Advantage II helmet. Gonna decide on that in the next day or two. Probably end up running the disc since I already have it ........ just means I'll need to carry an extra tubie and throw the other in my special needs bag like I did in FL. |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid What time do we want to meet up for swims? We are staying outside LP maybe 10 miles so I'm thinking 8:30 would be great. It would be cool to have a set time and location which is the same for each day. I could get my kids to make a sign just so it is easier to find each other as many of us don't know what others look like. For IMAZ I think Aaron had folks PM some details like when they were arriving departing, cell phone numbers, full names, and maybe email addresses so a speadsheet could be shared with participants who wanted to be included. I'd offer to do it but my new computer's spreadsheet program isn't so great. Anyone want to step up and do that? I did my first IM+ distance swim today..it was long...glad to have one done finally. Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid The Gatorade swims usually run from like 7:30 - 10 or so. They have a tent sent up to watch your stuff and you get a free Gatorade Endurance bottle afterwards. At FL the BTers set up a little tent on the beach, but I don't think we have any sort of large seashore here. |
