CLOSED Fred D - 2013-03-24 7:10 PM QueenZipp - 2013-03-24 6:36 PM Problem with the front derailer or the chain. Sometimes both. I would suggest the LBSI got stuck on my trainer because of sleet / rain/ snow mix. Did a tough interval set. My road bike has issues when I change from the little to big chain ring. Sometimes it switches right over and other times it balks and drops chain. This particular workout has a lot of switching between the rings and I had to get off 3 separate times to fix the chain. Anyone have thoughts on this? My cadence stayed consistent and I was careful to not "ask" the gears to change both front and rear rings simultaneously. Hit the gym for a circuit workout then did a short but intense swim. Good day of workouts. THanks, it's due for the spring tune up. Every time I mention it to the guys at the LBS they say it works fine for them. I avoid switching down to the small ring because I never know if it will switch back up without an issue. |

I got my BQ and I broke my '07 marathon PR. It yielded a #3 AG which was a nice surprise. Somehow I was able to rise above the food poisoning and my cough. I haven't done a stand alone marathon since Boston '09 and I forgot how very hard they can be. Very tired, very sore, very happy. |

Extreme Veteran 692 England | Subject: RE: Fred D and Queen Zipp's SWIM, BIKE RUN consistency thread.... CLOSED What's everyone got planned for today? The weather's still screwy here, but fortunately my plans are all indoors. Going for a long swim in the 50m pool (or the "big boy's pool" as it's becoming known) and then, if I have time, going to have a little interval run on the treadmill at work before I start late shift. Have a good day everyone. |

And I'm looking at buying a tri bike (not for the sprint that I'm doing in April...but now that I'm looking at the longer distance races, it may be worth the lay out). Found a sweet used one, great price, on the internet here in my area (so I could even test it out) but it's too big. Bummer. |

Carytown Bikes has a sweet trade in deal right now, but as you need your bike for the RTC Sprint it wouldn't work for you. They are allowing people to take in their old bikes and posting them on line for them. They are keeping a commission fee but applying the remainder of the sale to a new bike. |

Have a good day everyone. I've decided to swim in the 50m pool as often as I can. They only have it in the 50m setup on Wednesday and Saturday, and I already swim at the tri club on Saturday, but I can manage 3 Wednesdays out of 5, so that's the plan. We've got really sick of our local pool messing around with timings, so we've started looking at alternatives. I'm going to swim in the 50m pool on the weeks that I can, and then I'm looking at options close to work for the other weeks so that I can fit it around things easily. And then we'll be cancelling our membership at the local pool because we realised that we're paying them quite a lot of money for very little actual swimming. |

What? no mountain bike too? Seriously, good luck on finding your bike. You will find the right one! In keeping with the rule that the ideal number of bikes = n+1 where n is the number of bikes currently owned. And on that front I've FINALLY sorted my tri bike. I managed to get 20% knocked off the price by getting it without the wheels, and they agreed to throw in the saddle that I want. Then my husband somehow negotiated a further 20% reduction (I have no idea how he does it, but he's really good!). So it's a bit of a steal... Picking it up tomorrow. Photos to follow |
