They may not have internet.  I think they told me they got rid of it so I might not be checking in until Monday.

I went to packet pickup and drove the bike course.  Trying to decide on tri bike (compact double) or road bike (triple).  There are a few steep hills, so I'm leaning road bike.  It's really going to depend on the weather - if it's raining or wet, I am more comfortable on the road bike.

I should go work on hydrating better before tomorrow and start making my bottles and packing everything up.  Not my favorite things to do, but it needs to get done.

I will be doing a 40 mile ride today. It's cool, it's drizzling, it's windy, and the roads are wet. Fun

I finished my 40 mile ride today but it was tough. The first 24 miles were into headwinds and also had lots of climbing; I averaged less than 12mph for this. After taking a break and having a snack I was finally getting a bit of a tailwind and my mph average climbing a lot (over 16mph). Along in here I realized I had a car just to my left pacing me; I look over and it's a cop. He has his window down and tells me that I need to be riding closer to the white line so that the cars can get by. I said "Yes sir" and he went on his way. This really irks me because this was not a very safe manoeuver for me and because I believe that he was wrong. It's my understanding that I'm entitled to take the entire lane if I so desire. I was not about to debate it with him right then
