Overnight flights are tough. Remember when all nighters were fun?

Having fun in the land of kilts, haggis and whisky.

I can't wait!!!  Saturday we fly to Vancouver for 8 days.  Wheeeee!!!

The only problem right now is finding someone to come look after the kittehs we HAD to bring home from the Anti-Cruelty Society on Saturday.  We were going just to look, I swear!

I may have also just bought them a cat tree jungle gym thingy and have plans to build shelves for them to climb up, etc.

Four. More. Days.

Friday is my last day in the office for the year, I am soooo looking forward to it.

Went to the gym and had a big morning of lifting weights and then a short run.... I'm all kinds of exhausted now.  Add in a small food coma effect and I need nap time.

I'm screwed next week. I have the whole week on call for the office plus ER call M-W-FSS.......hosed.  Merry f-ing CHristmas

Eww.  My condolences

Oh, and it is officially the holiday season in the office.  It seems like every open table, desk, or counter has cookies and treats laid out on them.

If you were in Chicago, I'd take you up on that!  Sadly, most (if not all) of my friends are either out of town or allergic.  And most of the pet-sitting places that I've been looking up are already booked solid.  Something's gotta work out though, right???

One would hope.  I've only been an attending for the last 14 years.  I have to be off the bottom of the totem pole soon.  Just hoping for 3, 4 legged cats this year Poor little Oliver and his bum foot.  Ortho vet appt in the am.

Yes it has to work out.  Might there be a neighbor with a teenager wanting to make some money over the holiday by cat sitting?  Also call some vets and see if they know of someone or have a staff member who might cat sit.

When we went to Disney last year, there was a Vet tech that came over 3 times to clean out the litter box and make sure they had food. If there is someone in your building (that you trust) you could have them come to do that a few times. That's the beauty of cats. They just need a place to poo and their kitteh bowls filled up....other than that, they're self sufficient (and probably want to be left alone).

Also, call, call and call again.

I just called and cancelled the dog's boarding reservations (Dec 21-27) because a friend offered to take him. Someone will be VERY THANKFUL that a spot opened up... but not as thankful as I am that Duke won't be caged up, and I won't be forking over the $$$ for it...

I polished off a bottle of Delsym (HOLY PRICEY OTC MEDS!) in 2 days - nothing. I will share as soon as I can breathe.

cowinkydink.

my boss is out today sick...  Also, I felt the "tickle" of sick on the flight home (sorry to all those on the 10 hour flight home with me and breathing my recycled air)...

Felt ok Friday night once we got home but not hungry, then started puking water and sleeping for about the next 30 hours.  Achy and weird nightmares you get when sick.  Sunday was ok. Drank some energy drinks and started to eat some solid food and had a reasonable dinner last night.  Felt ok enough to come in today.  I know I probably shouldn't have, but everyone said my boss who took over for my project was falling apart during my absence (maybe that's a good thing?  They will see how valuable I am?).

ALSO, my old employer who I LOVED working for wants to take me to lunch and "see how things are going".  I'm thinking they want to feel me out about gong back to them.  THAT'S could be an awkward/tough call unless the offer is too good...

Thanks for all the suggestions - I hadn't thought of calling the vet's office at all, but a vet tech might be fairly close to home as there's 3 different vet clinics close to us.

Our kitties are still hugely wanting to be around us and cuddle and follow us around... I think they're just so happy that they're in a home and not in the teeny tiny cage they've been in since October.  Poor kittehs!

I picked up a laser pointer the other week and one of the BEST reasons to have one is to make kittehs chase them.

Also, I'm late on the viral stuff, but see this ?
