Quick question:

HOW DO I GET THE WEATHER ON MY TRAINING PAGE????

I've noticed that a lot of you have it on yours, and it sure would be nice for me to be able to check it out at a glace when I go in to log my training.  - Maria

I believe you have to have one of the paid memberships to get this function.

I think so too.  When my membership lapsed during December my weather forecasts went away.  It is nice to have it there when I log in in the mornings.

I think that is correct.  I joined at the lowest level to support the site.  I don't use the training plans or any of the premium features but supporting the logs and the forums is important, I think.

Well February is off to a pretty good start (fingers crossed that it stays that waySmile).  Workouts are going well, my DH was informed that he'll be getting his hours back at work and we're working our way through winter.  Still have a little ways to go on that one, but spring has to come eventually, right?Tongue out

Soccermom - so glad DH will get his hours back at work - that has got to be a big relief!!!!

Waiting til it warms up a little more to go for my long run. Was supposed to do it yesterday, but the weather was too crappy. Only a little better today, I guess I have to just suck it up.  Anything would be better than a 6 mile treadmill run!

You totally rock girl.  I have 3.5 hours on the CT tomorrow.  Some music will be in order. Then 1 hour on the treadmill.

I have the Tough Love DVD too.  I've been using it for all of my long trainer rides.  It's a lot easier for me to stay focused that way, than if I'm watching a movie or TV.  In fact, I have some more Spinervals DVDs in my Amazon cart right now, I'm just having a hard time deciding which ones to buy.  Anyone have recommendations?

x2 I would like to get a spinerval dvd - but there are so many, don't know which one I should get and they are pretty pricey.

For Valentine's Day I have got my hubby a sufferfest video - Angels. Not very romantic, but he will get a kick out of it
(hopefully).

Congrats everyone on the weight loss, the races and having a first good month to the year!!!

Today marks my first day of official training for my first oly.  80min. on the bike.  I almost skipped out on the last 5min. but thought that I couldn't mess up my training already on the first day!!!  So I stuck in there and did all 80min. but I know I'll have a bruised butt in the morning.

Goals for Feb:
-Lose 3-5 lbs.
-Miss no workouts (have two rest days a week so that shouldn't be a problem)

Well, have a great Super Bowl Sunday and a fun week McFuzzies!

A training question for whoever wants it!

This week is a pretty heavy training week.  Some of you may have noticed that I get up extremely early to fit it all in, which I don't mind doing at all, but this week I have a conundrum.  Monday I have a 1:17 bike.  Tuesday I have a 2:23 bike + 44 min run.  I would have to get up beyond ridiculously early Tuesday to fit it in...would it be fine to do my 1:17 bike + 44 min run Monday?  That I could fit in no problem, as well as just a 2:23 bike Tuesday morning.  What do you think?

I think that would be fine.... As far as a training schedule goes I sometimes, ok prob most times, don't follow the actual days as they are layed out. Like last week I did Sat workout on Friday and Sun workout on Sat.  As long as I get my training in that's what counts. I did it this way during IM training last year as well. And if you need to miss a workout, like there's no possible way I can get to the pool today, don't freak out

I totally agree.  Real life steps into those best laid plans.  You all sound like you are doing great.

Good weekend for me. 3.5 hours on the CT and 1 hour run back to back Saturday with yoga...65 mins of 4X 30-60-90 second VO2.  Funny how a hard long workout one day can make a short intense workout seem like a walk in the park.

Oh, GO PACKERS!  Y'all have a great day.  I get to write a chapter on a book I'm doing with a friend on night fishing and then football.

Happy Sunday All.  Got a 9 mile run in today.  First long run since the Goofy Challenge in early Jan.  Felt rough while doing it, but feel good afterward.  There are some downsides to living in California, but the weather isn't one of them.  I just ran in some gorgeous weather here in Northern California.  Enjoy Superbowl Sunday!

Had a 14 mile run on the agenda today.
Met the running buddies (only 3 of us this week as one is in DC for the weekend) and headed out.

Turned out to be a crazy run!
Woke up to heavy snow, uh didn't think it was going to snow until this evening.  The temperature was great, just around freezing. Snow did taper off by the time we started but the road were an absolute slushy mess.  Cars going around us would spray us.  My feet were completely soaked.
We planned to run 3 loops, 5 -5- 4, allowing us to stop back at the car for water and fuel.  On second loop, I became separated from my 2 other running buddies.  Took a wrong turn, lost my sense of direction (was running in an area not very familiar to me - we traveled a bit to get some hills).  Ended up running in the wrong direction!  Figured out my mistake and began to head back.  Fortunately when I didn't return my friends got in the car to look for me.  Picked me up just after I hit 14miles.  Still had over a mile to go.   Plus, had forgotten to put on my road ID, so I had no identification. Also, ran only 2 loops.  First 5, then 9, with no additional water or fuel.   So NOT SMART on so many levels.  I feel like an idiot.Embarassed  Will never run without my phone again.  I would have had a map and could have alerted my friends.

I got my 6 mile run in today (on the TMFrown - can't wait 'til this snow melts and I can get back outside!).  It was a little tough towards the end.  I haven't been able to eat much this weekend so my energy level was pretty low - probably a good thing this was a cutback week.  I feel bad about missing my bike and swim workouts though, especially since I pretty much only get one chance a week to swim.  I'm going to have to find another day to get a swim in.

I'm starting to get excited about my race next Saturday.  The weather is supposed to be pretty good by then (mid-40's) and I'm anxious to get outside and in a race environment.  Plus all finishers get specially made chocolates - always a good reason for a raceLaughing

ummm ... YUMMM!!!  Definately something to look forward to.  Good luck on the race next week.

I've heard rumors there are parts of the country that hit 40 degrees.  I think it might be a myth.  Back down to single digits mid-week for us.
