Well, this morning I'm in spitting distance of my goal weight for March - a little late, but progress nonetheless.

And I'm amped about buying my tri bike...just trying to figure out the best way to make it happen - I have a pretty good sense of what is going to fit my bitsy frame (not nearly enough companies make small, WSD tri bikes, so the choices are limited...even the small non-WSD bikes seem to have to big a cockpit). I just need to figure out how to get it here, in town, assembled & fit.

March numbers:

Bike:13h 30m  - 219.6 Mi
Run:11h 24m 25s  - 78.34 Mi
Swim:2h 11m 40s  - 7000 Yd
Basketball:1h 15m

Not bad considering I was coming out of that sickness in early March and travelling a lot for work.  April will see me getting serious (finally) about sticking to a plan for IM Louisville.

Fred D - 2013-04-02 7:26 PM I ordered the 'Apple' weight scale which has an app to work with my iPhone. I'm hoping that it helps motivate me a bit more as I seem to be stuck on 171 lbs.

I've also got a bit stuck on the weight front.  If people want to post their starting weights and goals for April I'll put another table together.

Good luck with your search.  It took me 3 months to finally get everything in place for mine, but I'm loving it so far.  Bike fit tomorrow...

March's totals:
Bike:11h 29m 58s  - 201.61 Mi
Run:13h 03m 50s  - 78.39 Mi
Swim:3h 15m 18s  - 9520 Yd
Could have run some more, but still a pretty good month. I am especially happy with my swimming since I usually don't swim in Winter. All my riding was on the trainer, which was a little tiresome, but it's gotta get above freezing in the morning any day now, right?

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!

I ordered my tri bike last night. After it comes, I have an appointment for a fitting and then I'll be Speed McQueen. Or at least that's what I'll feel like. (I don't quite have Speed's engine...but I'm working on it.)

SO EXCITED!

Also excited because I put on my skinny jeans this morning and they were comfy enough to wear to work. Down to 155, with my goal for April of 150. Being very serious about MFP (including weighing & measuring food) and bringing my own food to faculty events.

My weight loss and gain is always on 2-3 week delay.  Meaning it takes about 2-3 weeks of focus (or poor eating) for the results to show up on the scale.  I do find that weighing myself regularly helps keep me accountable.  I don't pay that much attention to the day to day swings, but more so progress over 3-5 days.

I am down to 154.2 this mornig before my run.  Still need to keep the focus though as I tend to get complacent everytime I get into the lower 150's then go back up.

Also did a test run for my uphill TT yesterday.  Pretty pleased with the results.  I couldn't motivate myself to push as hard as I would on race day, but I did pick up some key insights that should help me this Sunday.

And that is one sweet bike.  I have a love for Cannondales (love my CAAD10), but the Slice doesn't fit me.  The new Slice RS on the other hand...the stack and reach numbers are a bit off the chart and might work well for me and my short legs.  Just can't justify it right now...or in the near future.

Starting weight 183, Goal weight 177 ....will need to get serious this month as next 4 weeks are my build stage of my current program.

Leaving tomorrow for a family ski trip to Mammoth, its been years for me and the kid's first time... Its a recovery stage week for me but still won't be able to train for 4 days...I suppose I will get some cardio on the slopes and there is an indoor pool where we are staying...I guess I can do a bunch of mini laps =)

Anyone have any experience with Focus bikes ?

That bike looks awesome Kristen.  When is it due to arrive?  I tried the slice, but the geometry was a bit extreme for me.

My day started out badly, but improved a lot.  Woke up with a headache, which continued into my long swim.  Not quite the quality workout I was hoping for.  But this afternoon I had my bike fit, which went well and I'm really pleased with the outcome.

Then this evening we had a time trial on the running track (3.2km).  We do them every couple of months, and the last one was the middle of January.  I was hoping for an improvement on the last one, but it went much better than I hoped.  Not only did I beat my previous time by over a minute, but I got an all time PB by nearly 30sec.

Today was a beautiful day so I'm hoping for more of the same tomorrow so I can try the tri bike outside.  I'm a little nervous about it, as I'm aware that the handling will be more twitchy than I'm used to with the road bike.  But I've got to start somewhere...

Fred D - 2013-04-03 1:35 PM Ok just got my new weight scale. Logs to my iMac and iPhone. My wife and I are going to work on tracing this. Withings scale. Pretty cool.

I was wondering if you had gotten the iHealth scale.  I looked it up and it had pretty bad reviews.  The Withings one seems to have really good reviews.
