i have a pretty great boss.  he trusts that his people are doing good work, backs us up COMPLETELY when we ask for help, and keeps his nose out of our business.  i like that a lot in a boss.  it's a big part of the reason i took this job last summer.

well, he is being moved to a new department and now i have to work for one of the shittiest managers in the building.

boo.

Can you get a transfer too?

not sure yet - they are creating a new department.  i don't know what kind of personnel he will need/want yet.  there are jobs open here that i am qualified to do if the new boss does suck.  i am also flexible to move now that i'm out of school and husband is halfway finished.  i am willing to give him a chance - he has a horrid reputation but maybe it's not that bad.

some people in my group are able to retire if they want, and others are able to choose where they want to go work.  the next few months should be very interesting.

Morning TAN

Taking the 6am flight from Newark to Chicago this morning might not have been the best idea.  And I'm supposed to do a 5km fun run after work today.  I predict about 17 cups of coffee between now and then.

Yes, yes it is.  Actually - there won't be ANY running done at all  as I'm doing it with a group of ladies that don't run.  At all.

They're doing this thing because there's burgers & beer at the end - but I guarantee we'll be walking.  Yay.

We have a manager that has a horrible reputation.....but he gets results. The ones that complain about him are the ones that don't want to work, he presses them to perform, etc. Others love working for him because he expects his team to be great....and they thrive in that environment.

Glad your willing to give the guy a chance. He may not be as bad as the rumors and/or to work for.

But....always keep options open.

Walking around the office this morning in shorts and a t-shirt, and just now realized that I failed to remove the body markings from yesterday's race.

It is indeed a great Monday morning. Ran a sprint race this weekend, beat my goal time, finished top 10 a.g., beat my training partner for the first time. Came in this morning, knocked out enough work that I am ahead of schedule and can fool around on BT for a few minutes.

Great start to the week.

haha, no.... as soon as I noticed, I went and scrubbed it off the back of my leg as best I could.

I work at a computer software company, the average person here reminds me of Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons... exercise is a foreign concept to most of them ;-)

Done WAY too many of those. No more for a while since I'm recently unemployed again. I no longer need to pack a suitcase every week either

i don't know how he is as a boss, but i've formed opinions on him as a person.  he has not acknowledged my existence ONCE.  we could be walking head on in a hallway and i will smile or nod or say good morning - normal office politeness - and he DOES NOT respond.  he will interrupt a conversation i am having with one employees by just starting talking to them, no "excuse me marilyn," or "oh hey marilyn i have to interrupt you a minute"  like i'm not even there.  dude has absolutely zero people skills.

I got the fuel pump in out mini van changed after watching the YouTube video. It actually was not as hard as I thought, and by doing it myself, I saved over $800 doing it myself!

Happy Monday.

Girlfriend moved in over the weekend. Now it looks like my house has exploded and we have two of everything. I sense a huge yard sale in my future or something to get rid of all this stuff.

106 degrees with humidex today. Things are getting in order and I can't wait to go home and finally get a bike ride in.
