Sure! I used some this week when I got tired of same old stuff. Need to keep enthusiastic about the next ( last?) few weeks of this challenge!

LOL you got drunk and posted in the core thread of all places!?!?! Hahahaha that is amazing.

Are you calling me out on the fact that I am a loser? I know. I was laying on the boat near the end of the night with the iPad in hand. Opened it up to find the BT site up in my browser. Pretty soon, amazing things happened. And I got my core done tonight after a quick run.

Nawwwwww

It's alright...I am Knocked out about 12 minutes last night following an easy run. It's race day...yes, a Thursday afternoon race, so I won't get my core until well after the event is over!

Brad if posting on BT after drinking at night makes you a loser, I guess I'm a repeat offender.  We all can't have Salty's sizzling social life...

Ooooh ouch!

I was just teasing. You know, projection and all? As if I've never posted on here drunk.

Did I read something about a boat, Brad?

Yep, 26 foot cabin cruiser by Lake Michigan...

Coming for a ride next summer???

3rd in my AG tonight, but had an awful run. Hung on to 3rd by 11 seconds thankfully...they give out bottles of wine rather than medals!!!

I'll post a RR tomorrow...and I might need to double up on core tomorrow. Not sure I'm feeling it tonight...but you never know.

Wow, are you slacking or what

BTW, great job on 3rd and more so for hanging tough at the end.

What race is this and is it anywhere close to Chicago? Congrats on your podium!

So I'm up to 11/11 days on this challenge. I still don't have the motivation, but at least I know I'm not alone in feeling that way.

Although I just signed up for IMWI 2014 - so maybe that will be the kick in the butt I need to get core training in!

This was the Island Lake Fall Triathlon, put on by Element Events. It is just northwest of Detroit, I'd say 4.5 hours from Chicago probably, depending on where you're at.

I actually haven't opened the wine yet. It was a long week, and I was pretty exhausted when I got home, so I sat on the couch watching NFL football until I fell asleep. The wine will be opened soon enough.

And if you bring your booty out here for a ride, I'll make sure noelle and her hubs are invited as well. Then you can teach us all the meaning of real speed work.

Great job on the races Brad and Mike.

Today was Day 39.  I have a hard time believing it's been that long.  When I got out of the shower this morning my wife asked me if I was holding my stomach in.  Pretty good payback for the effort.

Heck yeah, Steve!

Brad, hope your feet are feeling better.

All current...knocked out 20 minutes tonight to catch up from Thursday's race day.

My feet suck...they're approaching the worst I've had in the past right now.

Core done both days this weekend, and  I tried a few different things.  Feelin it.

Brad, have you tried having someone (massage therapist, ART therapist, rolfer, awesome Asian pedicure girl), rub your feet on a regular basis?  It might sound excruciating right now, but some regular hard sole and lower calf and either side of the achilles rubbing helps me quite a bit.

I think you need some off season.  My PT told me the only way my tendonosis is going to heal is to basically stop running for 6-8 weeks and then start REAL slow again.  Obviously that ain't happenin' yet, so Advil it is.

Maybe we've covered this before...but do you wear inserts/orthotics in your shoes when you run?  Heck, just walking around the house?  I wear Superfeet insoles in an old pair of running shoes and they're my everyday walk around shoes.  It seems to help a bit.

I already foam roll (tight glutes and tight calves). I use The Stick on my calves, hamstrings, and quads quite often. I get the occasional massage, but I don't have easy access to someone who is great at it. I have noticed I have been extremely tight lately, so I am trying to pick up the frequency of this to see if it helps. This morning was a little bit better than previous mornings.

I do have custom orthotics, and this is even my second go round with them. The second pair was more effective than the first, but even those seemed to help at the beginning but right now they don't seem to be cutting it.

Unfortunately, I'm very much a summer time guy and I prefer to be in sandals, so I have a feeling this has slowly accumulated over the summer long usage of sandals. As much as it pains me to say it, I am looking forward to the cooler months in which I will wear shoes all the time and thus constantly have my orthotics in.

PSA

Hey all, don't know if you saw that there's a Septmember push-up challenge, but there is!   Since many of you are doing push-ups as part of core, you may want to consider doing the push-up challenge as well.

10PU/day for each day of the montn.  So today is the 9th--90PU.  You can do them in whatever increments work for you.

I know.  I suck.  I really suck at stuff like that.  I sometimes get a few days behind in my BT log:/  I would guess I'm somewhere between 60-70%.  I took off two full weeks when I had my neck thing, but I've been pretty OK since then.  Trying to "finish" strong, though I'll probably do more core going through the winter than I have during tri season.

Still hanging tough but bailed on the spreadsheet weeks ago.  Innocent

I'm probably at 85% of every day now...got my Birkam session in this morning but I totally mailed it in.  Foot in mouth
