Subject: RE: Fred D and Queen Zipp's SWIM, BIKE RUN consistency thread.... CLOSED drfoodlove - 2013-04-06 1:21 PM I had a great ride this morning, until it wasn't anymore. About 8miles in I took a spill and, not to be too graphic, took the epidermal layer off a section of my thigh with the handle bar. Got back on the bike went on my less merry way, and the at about 10miles I broke my chain. I didn't even know that could happen!! I had to hoof it the last five moles home carrying my broken bike, limping, and walking stupidly because of my cycling shoes. So...how bad is that for my shoes? Spent the rest of the day doing yardwork stuff. Hope you all had great Saturdays, and rhose of you who raced today, I hope it rocked! Ouch. Sorry to hear about the spill. Hope it heals up quickly. |

Hoping for a run today, later. I did a technique focused swim this morning, want to get out for a ride today but am trying to not trash the legs too much since the 10K is this weekend. |

Member 108 | Subject: RE: Fred D and Queen Zipp's SWIM, BIKE RUN consistency thread.... CLOSED After an awesome 4 day ski trip and a rest day yesterday, I felt kinda gross and so ready to get back in training. Even though it was years since I went skiing, things came back quickly and did some more challenging runs on the second day. We placed most of the kids in private lessons for both days and they had a blast... kids make skiing look so easy, lol. I probably could have ran or swam as the weather was perfect and there was an indoor pool in our complex but I was too sore and too full. So no real training during the trip except some cardio from skiing. I took a rest day yesterday as I have another busy week at work due to all the different spring break schedules. This morning, I had a crisp 2000m swim session and a short 3 mile training run. Feels great to be back. Quick question. Since I missed 4 days of training including my long rides and runs should I just stay on course on my oly training program I have been following or should I make any adjustments this week ? I have 6 weeks to my oly tri and these next 3 weeks are my peak training weeks. Thanks and have a great day ! |

CLOSED Tri2Smile - 2013-04-09 12:25 PM My thought on the missed workouts really depends on where you were in the training cycle? Was it a big build week? Then I would do that week and adjust the plan at the end. if it was still a lot of base laying stages I would keep going as written. After an awesome 4 day ski trip and a rest day yesterday, I felt kinda gross and so ready to get back in training. I would think you had a good foundation and at least had good cross training/ aerobic activity with the skiing so you should be okay to just keep moving ahead with the plan. |

Last week was a recovery week so I was glad it coincided with our ski trip. Starting this week and next 3 weeks are my build weeks. Makes good sense, I will continue moving ahead with the plan. Expert 1023 , | Subject: RE: Fred D and Queen Zipp's SWIM, BIKE RUN consistency thread.... CLOSED I had a nice run followed by a short ride this morning. All of a sudden Spring is here! It was over 50 by the time I started my ride, so it was a real pleasure to ride in short sleeves and shorts. I felt a little awkward out on the roads for the first time in awhile this past Sunday, but today I felt really comfortable. Just wished that I had more time for a longer ride. Welcome back, Rich! Sounds like a fun trip. |

CLOSED Working from home today - planning a swim and a bike later this afternoon...trying to get all my swims and all but one short bike in before I leave for my business trip on Thursday afternoon - that way all I'll have to do when I'm gone is run and a short bike @ the fitness center in the hotel (better than nothing, but will still suck). |

Today we had thunderstorms and ice with supposed snow on the way. I would give anything to run in shorts in April. Doesn't seem like a lot to ask for really. |

There is a bad brush fire and the major road over toward that gym is closed, all the side streets are back logged (husband has been stuck in it over an hour already). So, I tested the instructor and she'll text me another workout later. |

Subject: RE: Fred D and Queen Zipp's SWIM, BIKE RUN consistency thread.... CLOSED Fred D - 2013-04-10 11:28 AM Weight down to 166. Very pleased! I'm actually down to 150.4. Lightest I've been in over 10 years. I'm actually a little worried (not health wise, but performance wise) because it's coming off too fast. I don't feel hungry, but trying to add back some calories and make sure I'm staying hydrated. |

Missed my swim this morning...supposed to be a drop-back week, but I haven't been really dropping back - so my body decided to make me listen. 153.4! Yeah for me! Getting so close to my first big goal. (Hopefully this will compel me to eat better on this business trip...and I have my running shoes with me.) |
