So, on an extremely terrible day, I have two good things to share.

1. PowerBar is doing a little spotlight feature thing on me. I had to answer a few questions blah blah blah.

2. These came in the mail! I skipped the awards ceremony (I was laying in bed in the hotel reading and couldn't bring myself to get up) so they shipped them to me.

1. Very cool!

2. Very cool!

amd723 - 2012-11-28 10:41 AM Thanks TJ and Yanti. My issues are really just annoyances. Compared with what others have to go through, I have it easy. I just like to complain

Funny you say that. I've been giving perspective some thought the last couple days. The CoJ post about the "Redneck" family made me realize that mine isn't all that bad.  The TT post about balancing a 70 hour work week, small children and training made me realize that fitting in my training time isn't all that difficult (although that cold pool at 6AM still bites) Laughing

Amen.

Wrap a wet sock around a warm beer and put it somewhere dry. That'll gitcha cool beer!

Perspective is what helps the most. I told Ann last night that I'm complaining about my crappy job while our friend Barb is losing her husband. She'd loooove to have my "problems", wouldn't she. The flip side is that your life is just that, YOURS. And no matter how small the issues may seem to someone else, they are truly problems for us.

I've only got so much depth to me and today's is used up.

Thank you all for listening, have an outstanding day!

cdban66 - 2012-11-28 6:28 AMReally cool to see so much smiling going on. Thanks for that everyone.Felicia - I am NO help, so just know that I hope you are feeling better.Jo - I hope you get your voice back. It looks like the show was fun.Kirsten - How cool is this trip going to be?!? That sounds awesome. Please tell K congrats on all the hard work she has put in.Kate - speaking of hard work, you got that in spades. Keep at it, you will be through it in no time. And a trip to boot, that looks like fun.Ann-Marie - Congrats on the ND victory. I'm sure that beating USC has not tasted so sweet in a while.Rough day for me yesterday with a few more challenges for the rest of the week. At least I can count on running to clear my head. It is funny how much 30 minutes of running time can put things into place, open my mind and heart to that which truly matters, and just be the all around fix for that which ails me.Love fully, care deeply, and give of yourself. It may not matter today, but it does matter.
Sorry you're having a rough time right now, but things will get better! I'm in a bit of a bad spell too: my fridge needed to be replaced, but my space is a bit odd so finding a new one has been time consuming and frustrating and expensive. I haven't had a working one in a week which creates its own issues. I also have a tooth ache and am trying to get into the dentist, but with work commitments etc getting time to get it done is proving challenging. And, my foot is not healing, so I have to go back to the doctor for it. Finally, I may or may not have company starting tomorrow, so I may or may not have to get the house ready for them in the time I don't have to get to the dentist!Oh we'll, next week is sure to be better

I hope everything lightens up for you.

Getting in to see PT tomorrow about my Achilles.  I haven't been running, but has been feeling not too bad on the bike.  Keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't keep me down too long...

Got some exciting news today--my little baby dog (well, she's 3, but still the baby) has been selected to compete in the European Open Agility competition.  K came home from Singapore and flew directly to Calgary to support me in my HIM last year, so I guess I have to go to support her.  In Belgium Laughing.  We will be really close to both the Netherlands and Germany as well, so I will hopefully get to go geocaching in all 3 countries LaughingLaughingLaughing.

The little baby was bred in the UK.  K needed to choose her early so the breeder could start some training for her; K went to the UK to pick her up at 11 weeks.  I chose her from pictures of all the pups taken by the breeder.  I knew those little white toes would pay off!!!

It's terrible the things we have to do to be supportive of loved ones!

Have any of you that are in tri-clubs heard about the USAT National Challenge?

USAT link

I got an email from the club in Denver where I do some OWS but I'm not a club member.  I checked with Team Fight but I don't see them on the list.  Individuals can sign up and be put on the "NCC" team but I thought it would be fun to participate on a "real" team. The only team I saw on the list in NM was one over in Clovis. Undecided

Just back from the PT--Good I am taking care of it early, good that I have not been running.  She gave me some exercises to do [which I started 3 days ago from reading up on some new research on Achilles tendinopathy (why is it tendinopathy when it is a tendon?)] and she ultrasound-ed it.  I will keep not running and see her a couple times next week.  Glad it's the offseason ;-).  I did say I wanted to get stronger on the bike!!  Seriously, though, I do not want to mess around with this so will follow her advice to a T.

Perspective - totally true.  Even if your problems still bum you out, it usually helps to think of all the good stuff you have in your life, to soften the blow of what's bugging you.  HOpe all the issues start to resolve soon!

Hellooooo Manatees!

Some random thoughts/questions:

I am two visits from being a card carrying Gold Member at the Bux! Yay!

I have worked out all but two days in November. One missed day was the day after my HM and the other was Veterans Day because I got caught up in housework and forgot to run. Doh!

The header on my BT is reminding me that my membership expires in 14 days and that I have one day, 14 hours, 22 minutes and 31, 30, 29 seconds left on the 30% off. I'm wondering if I should do bronze. I'm using the Fink plan, which I imported, but I do enjoy getting the evening email telling me what my workout is the next day. Thoughts?

Hope all the Manatees are well.

It's always price versus hassle factor though, right?  If you want something free, Google Calendar works well.  It takes awhile to set up your workout events, but once you have everything in there, you can set up notifications or have it alert your phone daily.

I don't mind paying for a BT membership.  With all the benefit I get from this site I figure I should help with the cost of running it.  I'm just not sure if I should drop down to Bronze, not sure I'm using all the benefits of Silver.

Checking in Manatees!  I've been thinking of you when I've been conscious...

I had a great Thanksgiving.  I enjoyed the Turkey Trot and had a personal best.  Woo hoo!  I met my aunt there and my mom drove her so she held our bags and took post race pictures, etc.  That was good.  Then I went home and we met up again at my parents' place for turkey, etc.

On Friday I went to watch my aunt's presentation and the guys went out for BBQ at The Pit.  Then I did some errands (drop off bad rear wheel from the Felt to see if it was a warranty situation, etc.).  All and all a nice day.

Saturday morning at about 2:00 or 3:00 am, I wake up.  Gurgle gurgle gurgle goes my stomach.  Trips to the bathroom about every half hour.  Barely remember Saturday except for making a Yanti-inspired decision to Ride My Bike (yes, I am an idiot). Barely remember Sunday.  Did not eat anything solid for like 36 hours in there.  Missed work on Monday but on solids again.  Slept more than Emma.  Missed work on Tuesday.  Slept more than Emma.  Came into work on Wednesday because I was afraid that my boss would "help" me and I would never untangle the mess.  Feeling kinda OK today.  Mostly just tired (sleepy tired) but eating normally, etc.

I think that Picking Up My Bike last night was the real turning point!
