Compaired to the rest of the TAN crowd.  I'm the one that always says "never did that before"...

I have plenty of items on the bucket list!

I had a horse for 23 years. This week is 2 years since I had to put him down. Part of my insomnia has been due to melancholy about that part of my life being gone.

Out of the clear blue as we're driving for coffee, my son draws a picture of a horse and starts telling my daughter about how soft Dust was and how she would like him too "except he died".

How do kids do it? Like a special sense.

They do have that spidey sense don't they

I am sorry about the horse, it is truely a special relationship between horse and rider.  Miko one of my mother's horses really saved her life after my brother died.  He will not be with us much longer I am certain and it is a sad prospect.

Oooooo ... I love Dragoon .. the terrain is awesome.  Like being in a Star Trek episode.

What pray tell is in Dragoon on Thursday?

A brewery with a food truck. Some tri girls are going and they said you might be in attendance. I guess you were unaware?

A guy two cubes down is walking a tech through a module software update and I know what he is saying but I still laugh at his words

"No no no. You have to force it in, have you forced it in yet? No, ok force it in"

This in the cube next to me about an hour ago:

Her: Is it up?
Him: No
Her: It was up yesterday. Why isn't it up?
Him: I have no idea, but I may need your help getting it up.

People in general and your children in particular pick up on a physical context of the person.  Even if you never spoke about it, you may have had the same sighing and displayed the same sadness that last happened when the horse died.  The child associates the event with that emotions that you are displaying.  It is communication through emotion and is more fundamental than verbal communication.  Dogs for sure sense emotions even though they cannot speak.

My little dog cuddled right up next to me when I was sad last night.  She just seemed to know it.  That's not her typical M.O.  She's kind of a loner.

Of course after about 20 minutes, she was done consoling me and took off.

If I had a dollar for everytime I've never heard that line before.....

If I had a dollar for everytime I heard "I've never done that before" I would have a few dollars.

But is that worse than hearing

"meh, been there, done that....    done that...  done that...."

Not as long as I get to do it. Dating as you get older it is less and less likely you will be the first anything so it doesn’t bother me.

Old ballz.

I gotz'em.

HA!

I just laughed out loud that was damn funny.

Ever watch kids cartoons and just KNOW certain lines were no accident? Adults must have been bored at work.

Yes.  Especially Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents.  Oh boy .. they don't even try and hide it sometimes.  Goes right over the kids heads .. makes mom chortle!

(5 sec ago) PBS cartoon... "I know something else you're big enough to do. Take the cherries over to Dad."

sigh...brain out of gutter. Now!

I have an 8 and 11 year olds so yes I get a good laugh out of the adult jokes they slip in. The movies now have a lot more jokes aimed at parents so we don't mind taking them to the movies as much.

Any of the parents ever catch yourself watching a kids show than you realize you kids have been out of the room for a while and it's really just you watching the show?

A few years ago the doc thought I had a stress fracture of the navicular bone.  I called my mother to tell her and she busted up laughing and threatened to put me down.

Did it on purpose first day of Kinder. Watched Clifford cuz I couldn't stand the quiet.

Does Toy Story really count as "kids show"? Seems there's plenty of over-kids'-heads lines. Or maybe it's just me reading too much into...Laughing
