Master 6834 Englewood, Florida | Subject: RE: Mad Manatees Mentor Group - VERY CLOSED!!! Sorry! jogo - 2013-01-15 7:51 AM All of the before and after pics are super inspiring!! Kirsten-I can totally see the before and after in your face and arms especially. These pictures have me thinking and I want to pick your amazing manatee brains. I have trouble with goal setting. I don't know how to do it. I don't know that I have ever done any goal, really, because I am severely afraid of failure. I would like to set some goals. Yes, I said that out loud. Where do I start and how do I start? I seem to want lofty things but then when I don't see progress or if I am not consistent, I go far backwards. I am one of those all or nothing people. Training plans, if I miss a day, well then I miss a bunch more and then I look into new training plans. Diets, if I blow a day, well then I blow the week until the next start date. I need a brain reset. How did you all set and meet your goals? What keeps you on track? How do you get it set in your brain that this is what you want and go for it? I know my questions are weird and I seem to have a disconnect somewhere. I know my manatees will get me. Will you all help me set some goals? I do hope that you appropriately (or not-so-appropriately ) stalk my log to keep me on track. We have established that I do this already, right? |

Master 3870 | Subject: RE: Mad Manatees Mentor Group - VERY CLOSED!!! Sorry! rrrunner - 2013-01-15 9:01 AM I used Livestrong as well and liked it. Put the Lose It app on my phone and found it easy to use. I go in spurts of using...like to get me back on track and really thinking about my intake.Great after pic! You look so happy and accomplished.Haha...I'm in your same picture boat. I always take them, hardly in them. I'm still searching Joanne, there are some great tips here for weight loss motivation. My methods were a lot like Chris'. I used Livestrong to map my weekly weight loss goals and to track calories in/calories out. I always got a thrill when I consumed less calories than I was "allowed" based on my excersice. I was using Hungry Girl meals which I probably wouldn't do now. They are super easy and convenient and low cal but they use a LOT of processed foods. It did make it easy to log the meals in Livestrong tho. Here are my before and after. As I said I was not fond of being in front of the camera so the few pix of me are with family or on mission trips (such as this one), only for "special" occasions. The after is me and DS1 after my first triathlon, Tri for the Cure-Denver. |

Master 7712 Orlando | Subject: RE: Mad Manatees Mentor Group - VERY CLOSED!!! Sorry! So I'm feeling pretty motivated right now. Rev3 Florida came out with an Olympic distance to go with the half it offered last year. Because there was only the half last year, I could not convince anybody to participate with me, so I was by myself last year. Well, today, the first day of registration, I've already gotten 2 of my brothers to say they will do the Olympic! I'm working on recruiting others. I will do the half again, so I will be alone in that race, but that's ok.Of course, the race isn't until November, so my motivation has plenty of time to wane |
