Perfect timing for me since I just registered for the Rock n' Roll Seattle half mary. Please put me down for 30 miles of wogging (walk/jog combo). Since I've had an injury filled summer, I'm talking it nice and easy training for this one.

Actually, do race miles count regular or double like they have in some previous challenges? I'll be doing the run portion of a super-sprint tri on 10/19 as part of a relay team. If we get double miles, then put me down for 32 and I'll pick up the extra other 1/2 mile somewhere along the way. If it just counts as regular miles, then I'll stick with the aforementioned 30.

I would love to be on a team with Beth and/or Judy. They've both been a tremendous encouragement to me in my year here at BT! Gosh, I can't believe it's been a year already!!

Thanks, Cat!!!

Hi Mel - running in races counts at the distance it is... so if its a 5 mile run then you get 5 miles for it... very simple huh?

Another Melon wannabe here--love those guys and want to get to know them better now that I'm able.

Of course the Horny Melons, if it is possible that we remain a bunch, are a very lovin' bunch and welcome all comers .

Offthegrid - 2008-09-25 8:30 PM c'mon, folks, there's a lot more than just cattle prods and whips. heh. back to your regularly scheduled challenge.

You're right, we have tasers, too.

And we love our whips, cattle prods, and tasers!  Pain is pleasure, right?

I guess I should post my goal.  I'll stick with 60 miles.  Good round number.

That's right, we do!! Count me in for being whipped!! I'll come up with a goal soon.

Have started training for my second marathon (want to get under 4 hours) and have never made it to the magical 100 miles in a month mark. So this should help me stay focused all month, put me in for 100 miles.

I'm revising my horny-melon total down a bit to 140miles.  I got NYC Marathon coming up and am feeling a bit like I've been over-training.

You are an eager little bunny... depending on my workload either tomorrow night or they will be up before you get out of bed the next morning!

I havent come up with team names even yet...

Cat - I can stick this in when the spreadsheet is up, but I'm going for lucky number 13 sessions! Was gonna go for mileage, but doing sessions keeps me way more accountable - no just doubling a workout (and the injury that would bring) to make up. I gotta do it every day I'm scheduled, which keeps kicking my butt out the door!

Yay for October!!!

Count me in!  It's been awhile since I did a challenge, and I'm really trying to build up a little run fitness after several months off.

Put me down for 40 miles!  It'll be a challenge for sure, but I can do it if I stick to my plan.
