Or do they? No matter, in less than 60 hours I shall be crunching on my very favorite cereal in the world ... NUTRI-GRAIN! The Aussie/Kiwi kind, not the U.S. kind. That stuff is ... shudder ... kinda healthy. Just for you.
You rock! Very fast with the photoshop there! ;-) |

The journey to work seems to have rattled my ears! Drive, train, tram and escalators have all contributed to upsetting my equilibrium. I'm waiting to settle down then I'm going home, going to the doctor to get some days off. I'm fine at home just sitting and pottering around and walking. I should not be driving. Sleep deprived too, every move in bed in the dark results in a huge headspin. Take care! This does not sound like fun at all. Even reading about it gives me a motion sickness headache... |

Master 9705 Raleigh, NC area | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED JoGo's Exercise Challenge! What's the scoop? I need details! As I understand it, we are going to exercise at least 30 minutes per day in December. (Yes, that is every day starting now if you have not already started.) Are we creating goals in our training blogs? Or are we doing some sort of checking or spreadsheet to hound each other? Can we force Allen and Kirk to participate? Does our challenge have an official name? Participants:

Expert 1452 Troy, MI | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Per jmkizer's request: I need more information about the challenge. Name? Parameters -- 30 minutes of activity per day in December? Name: ? Any suggestions Parameters: 30 minutes of anything active daily till the end of the year or world which ever comes first, includes Christmas and rest days, no excuses because no real parameters except movement. Challengers, so far: Jogo jmkizer KansasMom bracht Artemis If it is okay with Yanti and Salty, maybe we could post that we got our 30 in and how daily here. It is just chatter and motivation, especially as the holidays get crazy. It is easy to get caught up in parties and shopping and forget to take a little time for yourself. These 30 minutes are your gift to yourself. Use them however you wish but use them for you. |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Fo those of you that don't know, my SO's mother passed away unexpectedly so we've been dealing with that. Ive been doing my best to keep things together and be helpful while not taking over and being emotionally available. It's like a simultaneous triathlon think swimming with your bike shoes on. Anyway, today is the first day attempting to get back into our routine which is comforting. Jo I'm in for the challenge. |

Anyway, today is the first day attempting to get back into our routine which is comforting. Jo I'm in for the challenge. That's a quadrathlon! 1) keep things together 2) be helpful 3) not take over 4) emotionally available. Such a shocking thing. So difficult to have the grieving process kick-started like that, and there just isn't a manual for the aftermath--for any of the family and other loved ones. (Well sure articles and books, but you know what I mean ... it's utterly a learning-by-doing and you are DOing awesome). I have been keeping you all in my prayers. |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED New avatars!! They are beautiful and confusing all at once! Yanti gorgeous and spendorific in pink and Kirsten posted a pic of one of her talented housemates/furry kids! Felicia is a streaker!! Jo - hoping your vertigo clears soon. It sounds scary and frustrating, although I must admit the tales of your tumbles are somewhat comical! Jo - welcome back to the fold! I'd love to join in your challenge but am already behind the 8 ball, so to speak, thanks to an ongoing cough. As far as your food battles, best of luck to you. I, too, struggle daily. I've found that getting enough sleep is a big one for helping. Less sleep usually causes less-than-desireable food choices. Also, I truly try to look at food as fuel (which I truly struggle with because, well, I love the taste of food) and not a crutch to get me through sadness/boredom, etc. What also helps is looking at the dreadful pics that have been taken of me in action at races and seeing a size me that I just don't like to see. That often helps me rethink an extra snack. Especially the hideous one from a 5K I did around Veteran's Day. OMG I look terrible. THAT's been the motivator this past week! Plus the 'no gobble' challenge I put myself into at work (no weight gain over the holiday season). Felicia - best of luck on the job front. Sounds like things are (slowly) progressing. Kate - hope your day out in the wacko weather went as well as it could have. Ann-Marie - loved your post about the beautiful weekend and how you were able to serenely enjoy it with your pup! Kirsten - lovely, lovely pic of your Christmas cactus, congrats on finally getting it to bloom! Sounds like I should move mine... Salty - more hugs for you and your SO. So very sad. Hugs hugs hugs. Chris - thanks as always for your warm, thoughtful 'challenge' for the week. I like it, I like it!! Yanti - sending you healing, positive vibes for the week ahead. Sorry if I missed anybody, it can be tough to catch up after being away from the pod for a few days! Edited by melbo55 2012-12-03 12:43 PM |
