Yes.  Ipad too.  I don't play any games on the computer anymore.  All iPad in my lap action!

That's a good place for fun and games, I imagine.

It is ... yet nobody wants to play there anymore.

They probably don't know there is a multiplayer option.

Possibly.  That could be my fault.  I only have one control for the Wii ... I tend to like to play alone.

If you had company, would you let them use the controller on your game?

I don't know.  They'd have to already know how to play and I might need their help to get past some of the new territory .. but most likely I'd play and they could watch or read a book.

I don't mind watching...  well, for a while at least.  Then I can't take it any more and want to jump in and try some things they are not doing.

"no, it's not left, right, left, x, x. - it's left, right, left, x, O"

There's always hidden areas.  But hey, it's there game.

The wife doesn't like to watch, even when I show here something cool...

She either plays or has no interest - and it's usually the cute and silly kid games.

Go KC tonight!

I'm not a fan of KC, but would rather see them win and beat SD.  Helps the standings for my Broncos.

Midget clowns came to mind when I read this. :/ The dangers of catching up on TAN talk.

And KC needs all the cheering they can get. They hardly have any fans of their own anymore.

Good morning TAN.

Pitt, I feel for you.  Loss of power is an annual fear down here.  That's why it isn't uncommon for folks to install a backup whole-house generator.  Or, in my case, just a tri-fuel.

Here's hoping they turn your juice on soon!!

So I'm sitting here in my hotel watching television, and I'm thinking "wow, this is really pleasant..."

not something you normally think of when you're watching tv; but then I realized I felt that way because there aren't any political ads on UK tv! Sweeet.

I need to know if I'm being completely horrible by being pizzed with my brother....

In August I asked some friends and family (my brother included) to write statements or affidavits for my Green Card application - it's part of the "prove you've had a prior relationship and you're not using the other person for their 'Muricanness" in the application.  My brother says no problem-o and says he's got a friend who's a lawyer and can take care of having the affidavit done and sworn properly and such.  Fabulous!

August comes and goes.  September gets to be about mid-month before I try to "gently remind" him of the affidavit and to his credit does get on it, gets it written and sends it off to me.  With no tracking number or anything.  Beginning of October I get an email from him saying that it got returned to him due to an incorrect address, so October 8th I give him the correct address.  On October 27th I write to him asking for the tracking number as I still haven't received anything.  On October 31st I re-write to him asking for the tracking number.  Yesterday I get an email back from him saying that he completely forgot about it, but he's put it back in the mail now WITHOUT ANY WAY OF TRACKING IT!   I would think that at the very least, he would have ponied up the $6 to send it with a tracking number, but nope.  Nada.

The other piece of the puzzle is that I haven't wanted to bother them too much about it because my SIL's mother is most likely months away from dying due to very aggressive cancerous brain tumors and SIL's brother is being a complete dbag by getting the doc's to do everything possible (he's the medical power of attorney) to just keep her breathing even though the doc's have said there's nothing more to be done (chemo did nothing so he decided to do radiation and kill her non-cancerous brain cells though it was expressly discouraged).  It's a horrible situation for the whole family, and one that I hope I never have to go through with my own parents.

I know this was long, but I guess I just needed to get it off my chest so that I can be less irked with him.

Sorry TAN - I resolve to be more chipper for the remainder of the day

that is a really tough situation...i think it's OK to be annoyed, just realize that when he says he completely forgot it's not like he was d*cking around playing video games, he probably REALLY did forget.  and for the tracking thing...it's extra time to go to the post office and get it done rather than just leave it for your mailman to collect (if you guys do it like we do it here) ... me personally that's exactly the kind of thing that gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

i don't think you are being horrible at all though.

You're right - he probably did actually forget, and I have to remember that he's got a LOT going on right on.  It's been a fine line between not wanting to nag at them, but also knowing (and they know this too) that if these applications aren't in within the next couple of weeks - I'm going to be in the country illegally which is quite frowned upon by the USCIS.

All I can do is be thankful that he's re-sent it, hope that it gets here this time, and keep my family in my thoughts for the best possible outcome with her mom.

Thanks Meh.

What's up TAN?  Hope everybody's good.  Had my third PT visit this morning.  Gained ~35 degrees of range of motion in my arm in 3 visits.  Working today, and then going to our local cycling club's end of year dinner to listen to Chrisitian VandeVelde speak.  Should be a good day.

How are you all doing today?

Monica -- Sounds like a bad situation all around.  I'd bet the letter will arrive before too long.

I can't WAIT for the ads to be over!

Do you get the meerkat commercials though?  I loved those when we lived in London.  Simples!

That is fantastic news Dan!!!   I hope you continue to get better, but sounds like good things are happening so far!

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that it arrives soon - getting deported isn't high on my list of things to do.
