I am wondering what my recovery time will be like after this Friday. I want to get back to working out after this if it makes all the pain in my knee go away. MEE MEE!!!! My doctor is now the Ortho for the Ravens. He said "If you were Ray Lewis, I'd have you back on the field in a week. But you need these knees for a few more decades." My mom (nurse) made me move it as soon as we got home. I hit the PT really hard for about 3 months. I was off crutches in about 1.5 weeks. I was riding a bike in about 2 weeks. Hit the leg lifts early and often. Really build-up the quads and hammies. I had my knee cut Feb 2nd, wrestled in a tournament on May 19th. Hardest thing is going to be going from bike to run. My sister had her surgery 2 weeks ago and got on the trainer yesterday (she just started into Triathlons in November). She wants to do an Oly in May. Just point of reference. Is it locking? Mine was completely locked. It sucked. Oh one more thing. Don't go swimming right away. You don't realize how much your knee moves when you swim. Maybe with a buoy, but you will still end-up trying to use it and it hurts like heck. It isn't locked. It does pop out of place more so now then it has been in the past. It has been clicking since June. I still tried to jog a little in August and that didn't work well. I had 3 weeks of ok runs then bam major pain. Finally had MRI in Sept.. Canadian Health care it might be free but June injured Dec finally getting the repair. hmmm good tips I was going to go swimming right away and just do pull sets. Right now the knee just feels tight all the time and throbbing here and there on walks. Right knee and my left side is suffering and making up for it too. I have hardly been doing anything the last 2 months and it is driving me nuts. I have put on 18 lbs and I hate it. I am worried about returning back to anything. I didn't think I would be running at all until maybe April. I gained a lot of weight from January when I injured to May. I was wrestling at 171 but weighing-in at 165 (best shape of my life) then injured, kept lifting. I wrestled at 189 in May... With the swimming. I would say just stay in the shallows if you can. I tried to do a full-on swim and I've never had a kick, but once I got into the deeper-end, I kicked and bam it hurt like heck. Walking on a treadmill (with about 3% incline) stair-stepper after a while, and riding a bike are all the ways to get back. You will get big triceps by using the crutches. |

Haha I gave in and read book 1 of that series. I couldn't take any more. I didn't see the hype. I actually thought it was poorly written.
But I like your idea of Hot yoga. I might have to convince my new friend to try HOT yoga with me.
teehee it was VERY poorly written. i read the first book and won't torture myself through the rest. Since on the topic. I'm not sure if it was the original book, or if there is flaws in converting a book to an ebook for kindle. but I seem to find a couple spelling mistakes in ebooks that I never noticed in paper books before. Well, on occasion, like once in a dozen books while compaired to Kindle and it's several in every book. |

Anyone here have meniscus surgery? I am wondering what my recovery time will be like after this Friday. I want to get back to working out after this if it makes all the pain in my knee go away. Mine was easy-peasy. Used crutches for a couple of days even though the doc said no need. I was healed in a month. Mine wasn't clicking or out of joint, just a good amount of pain right in the center of the joint. Snip, snip, clean clean and home I went. Swimming in 2 weeks with a pull-buoy, then riding and running about 8 week post surgery. No PT necessary. |

I'm now trying to figure out what to read. I've finished all the Dragon Tattoo books, I got bored after the 2nd book of Game of Thrones, finished the Jack Reacher novel that's being turned into a movie with Tom Cruise (no, I probably won't see it), currently reading the Alex Cross book, re-reading A Night at the Circus and waiting for my copy of Gone Girl at the library. About 80-ish pages in. It's quite odd, but fun. The book opens with a man taking the stand in court, testifying against his former childhood teddy bear.... and then it gets strange. I like it so far, but haven't had time to pick it back up since last weekend |

If you loved the movie then I see it as you just don't have a choice.... the movie was as well done as it could possibly be (and I really enjoyed it), but it doesn't even remotely do the books justice - not to mention that the movie only covers the first book in the trilogy. Seriously, you must read them!

I've heard this from others too. When did you have this done? Mine was 18 years ago. So maybe things have improved since then. I also had about 1/2 the cartilage taken out. I had my right done in 1987 and it was indeed week on crutches, 3 months of PT. Worst part is, it was a torn ACL and the scope didn't really solve anything. The one I describe above was my left knee and that was 2009. So easy and so relieving. |

I had to get rid of my Guinea Pig when once I woke up and he was standing on my chest with a tiny butcher knife with a very disconcerting grin on his little guinea pig face. Scury My hamster was standing on my chest with a tiny cell tower ready to zap me with cancer. So I flushed him down the toilet. Sometimes I can't help but turn other threads into TAN. It's wrong. I know. |

I'm assuming it's similar to borrowing them from another kindle user. I borrow them from my moms all the time. There is a kindle app you put on any phone/tablet/pc. I'm not sure if it's only Kindle or any ebook reader could read them? I don't have a kindle, but my library offers them for either kindle apps or other ereaders that meet the software requirements. I was just wondering if anyone's tried borrowing an ebook from the library yet? Hi Tan - saw a question I could answer! Yep, get them all the time. No problems. Depending on the book there can be a wait but they email you when they are available - and then you get the book for 21 days with my library and it deletes itself after that. Love it - hardly ever buy books. There isn't always everything new but still a pretty good selection for the company that the library contracts with. I read Tyler Hamilton's book as an e-book from the library and have embarked on the 'book crack' that is the Outlander series. |
