Not too long ago we went to new papertowles at work.  The new ones are brown and thinner and no one really likes them.  me I 'm not overly forn of them but I really don't care that much about them until this morning.  I spilld some bleach on my countertops and had to clean it up.  As I am wiping up the bleach the papertowl starts to get warm in my hand.  I thought "that's wierd" so I tried it again.  Same thing happened, the papertowels heated up as I cleaned up the bleach.  So my papertowels react exothermically with bleach, probably not the best situation in a research lab that goes through a case + of bleach a week.

Shoot I knew that Chem. degree would come in handy some day.

My mother is under hospice care at home as of Sunday.  She was under Hospice care before. It works well.  Plus, we have sitters with her 24/7.  My sister and I alternate being there with her.  In our area, the hospice care can respond to an emergency call very quickly, 15-30 minutes.  Routine checks come by once or twice a week depending on severity of condition. 

My mother is fighting back again from some fluid build up around her heart.  She has congestive heart failure (17% ejection fraction) and now renal failure and abnormal liver function which are consequences of CHF.   The doctors take one look as think she has less than a day to live.   She has proven them wrong before.

I will be thinking about you Kate. This is not easy.

What exactly is fake cheese?

In my area VW has always had the large nitch in the girl market but now for some odd reason I see a lot of younger Hispanics males buying them. This does not answer your question but it is something I have noticed.

This particular hospice care is end of life care and patients are only basically sent there when they are going to die as I understand it.  Unfortunately there is very little chance she will be home again but it is possible I guess.

Yes I HAVE to work every saturday. Ford is forcing us to run our equipment like Mad and it is the only time to get into machines and project work for upgrades and stuff that I put in place.

It isn't really Mandatory but it certainly is career limiting if I do not come in every Saturday.

Last weekend was our Thanksgiving weekend and I worked Saturday and Sunday and Had Monday off.

My boss is still bugging me today to cancel my afternoon off and work tomorrow.. NO SIR.

I need a weekend of Diving and a weekend away from here.

their sales are growing everywhere except for greece/italy/spain.  so yes, including the emerging markets, SE asia, etc.  but in every market they are still outpacing the world car market.  i can't figure out why VW of all cars??

I remember something you said to me about my father--how he was afraid to have my mom airlifted to Singapore because maybe he was afraid she would never come home and he'd never see her again.

Might be how your dad is dealing with it--the blanket of denial. I'm so sorry. Such difficult times.

VW is selling like hotcakes in East Tennessee because they built a plant here and created a lot of jobs. People are grateful. They seem to be a responsible member of the community. Plus, they are bringng the USA Cycling Pro Championship to Chattanooga. That helps too.

Clean diesel?

Sadly, my SIL's mom should be going into palliative care, but her son has convinced her that she will make a full recovery and that she'll be heading home so she has flat out refused to go to either hospice or palliative care.  Chemo for her brain tumors didn't work, so now (against doc's advice) the son has said to do radiation.  It's not good at home.

For Tony and I... Financially I don't know how we're going to get through the next couple of months.  It's all a really, really big clusterf**k right now. 

Shame I'm not still in South Florida, or I'd offer your housing for your trip! I can offer recommendations and my friends owns a hotel in Hollywood, though

It's looking like it'll be Christmas in Tucson for me - Thanksgiving flights home were NOT cheap, and I'll see the entire fam at Ragnar Florida Keys in early January.

Hyundai is also growing faster than exspected.

We make parts for VW and BMW and they are both seeing Volume Growth right now.

My major components are on the Ford Edge and we can hardly keep up with what they are producing right now.

The market is not showing growth over all but I think people are shifting their thoughts. I bought a VW Golf Wagon 2 years ago (jetta sportwagon in the US)

I heard all this hype about the great vehicle it is. and how the TDI would be great for fuel.

Other then the Fuel I hate the car it has been problematic and VW warranty is a pain in the arse they refuse to fix anything.

I have a NEW opinion of their vehicles. Not a good one. But people either Love them or hate them and they keep driving down the cost of the Jetta along with the quality unfortunately.
