My phone died and I lost track of you, Robin. I think I saw you on your first return trip, but I must have missed you on the second lap. I'm so proud of you!!

W00t w00t great job racers! Looking forward to reading the reports!

I had a great race over the weekend, errr well, an interesting race. I think between all the efforts I put in last week (including doing some strides too hard, who does that?!?!) I got to the line quite fatigued. I really had to dig deep in the race. I won the women's overall, continuing my precarious lead in the series but if I don't win the next race I will assuredly get second unless my competition screws up in the next two races.

After the race I had planned a very mountainous trail run which I had to cut in half due to extreme fatigue. It was beautiful, regardless

I ran into a bunch of runners doing a 50K training run for the cascade crest 100. Some pretty high profile people in the mountain/ultra type community. It was funny to see Instagram blowing up with photos of the stuff I had just run. However, I had only done a small portion of what they did.

I will say, running a hard, hard race followed by a training run is a good exercise in why we all advise to not go out too hard at the start.

After seeing the racers in the run leg of yesterday's IM Boulder, I am so amazed that anyone would even attempt such a thing!!  Because I saw people 4 times (it was an 2-time out and back), I started to recognize people and gained more and more respect for the effort it takes to do an IM.  Not that I didn't have respect before, but wow, just wow.   There were still people out there at 11 p.m.  I've watched Kona several times but never seen a race in person and the determination I saw was truly awe-inspiring.

Randee, I know you can do this.  You have that deep desire to tackle and conquer it, and from what I saw, that's what it takes.  Of course, there are always the things you can't control, but no matter what, just getting to the start line is a huge win!

That's awesome you got out to watch. And I completely agree! Randee, I think you are absolutely capable

You need to stop posting all these awesome pics, makes me too jealous!!

Good point at the end there. I tried to do my normal swim session this morning after racing hard yesterday. Yeah, couldn't do it. Get some rest/recovery and I'll try and do the same!

I had an AMAZING weekend in Colorado with DH and DS1. Friday night we ended up sharing a table with an ultramarathoner/trail runner from San Diego who was there to pace his friend during the Ouray 100 . What an amazing conversation! I could have talked to him forever but, alas, he needed to rest before he met up with his buddy. But anyway, he told me I should do the  Bear Creek Trail for my trail run on Sunday. So I sorted out the logistics and had one of the most amazing trail run to date. Parts of it felt a bit death defying .  Once I got past the 2.5 miles of sheer cliff face I had a blast!!!!

Yeah, quiver. Orrrr convincing myself to take another step "dontlookdowndontlookdowndontlookdown",  "a ride in a rescue copter might be nice, maybe I'll just wait here", "forward is a nice meadow, back is doing the switchbacks again, forward it is!"

Mary did you see TeeJay isn't doing the USA Pro Challenge? It seems BMC has decided to send him to the Vuelta instead!

I did!  He also said he wanted to go for the bigger race.  Should be pretty exciting with Quintana also doing it.  I really wish I could watch it!!

For a minute, I didn't notice that you wrote that message and thought somebody was being funny, saying that BMC was sending YOU to the Vuelta.  I probably shouldn't be skimming BT when I'm supposed to be working.

That's funny. I'd take a trip to Spain , not sure I'd be of much help to the team though.

Thanks, everyone for the thoughts yesterday! I really felt the power through your mad stalking skills!

Water temp was officially 78.1 so it was wetsuit optional. I, along with only 950 of the 2,900 crazies, choose to go without the wetsuit. Let me tell you it was the scariest swim I've ever done! It was a self-seed rolling start based on projected swim finish times. They started the non-wetties first, followed by those you wore the wettie. Everything about the start was brutal - more brutal than mass starts I've done and that was before they started the swimmers in wetties. I wasn't even half way to the first turn buoy when I got ran over by the fastest of the wetsuit swimmers. The swim course was also long - no one I know swam less than 2.6 miles. I was at 2.67 because I couldn't handle getting swam over and my head pushed down again by those who started after the non-wetties so I went to the outside right and just swam all by my lonesome. Unfortunately the kayakers were wearing the same color vests as the buoys and without my glasses I couldn't tell the difference. I probably said "Hi" to every volunteer on the swim course because I thought he or she was a buoy, hehe. I wasn't the only who did that either.

I did throw a guy off of me in the swim. He swam over my lower right half and then hit me in the face, knocking my goggles off. That would have been okay except then, instead of just getting off me, he pushed my head under the water with his hand. On purpose! I grabbed him and threw him and he had the nerve to ask me what I did that for as I was trying to fix my goggles. The right goggle never sealed after that and it leaked - not that that matters because I can't see anyways!!

Over-all I had a great day. When I finally get some sleep and food I'll tell you more about the day.

Sean - awesome job!!!

First off, I'm so happy for you!  You did great!  That was much faster than "just finish!"

On the swim -- Yikes!  Good for you for claiming your space after the bonehead dunked you.

Yeah, I don't get the wetsuit optional thing.  I know for safety (for those wearing them) but what about the safety of those *not* wearing a wetsuit?  What I mean is, delay the wetsuit wave or some such.
