Everyone take a deep breath or two or three....trust your training...do what you have done in training on race day.

Don't question your pacing or nutrition now go with what you have practiced.

Ignore on some level what others are doing and stick to what you know.

Don't have others comments or opinions sway you to from what you have practiced over last year.

I bought a 2XU Tri-Suit before this season and I have really enjoyed it so far. It's a bit snug but I have felt a fresher coming off of the bike versus previous years where I wore separate Sugoi tri-shorts and tri-top. Overall it's really comfortable and I have been satisfied with my purchase.

My only gripe about it is that the length of the legs are a bit long and cover almost down to the top of my knee. I asked 2XU if they do different lengths at an expo, but they said it's standard because they want to compress as much as they can.

I am getting nervous now.  I see most of you are using some kind of solid food on the bike.  Am I crazy for just using perpetuem? I used it for my HIM and had no GI issues but a full is a different story.

I am planning on doing the same. No solid food for me just perpetuem and gels and power bar perform.

I was trying to come up with something witty...for 3 IM finishes no tattoo...not sure I'll get one for the 50 thing. I did think about it today strangely enough while riding.  I did meet with a well known tattoo artist in CT after IMLP and discussed what I might like and he designed something, but I canceled the appointment.

Good luck, IMFL donkeys. Here is a race report from the old days that I needed to re-read as motivation.

Some changes since I ran it, but let your mind finish for you. The only thing you should be thinking about are where to lube up, what useless things to put in your special needs bag (nothing), and how you are going to have someone screen capture your finish when you are sprinting through that gate as he calls your name and utters that famous phrase. Good luck, donks!

DITTO

Do what you know.  Trust the training. There really isnt' anything more you can do to get ready, just enjoy the ride.

Remember what works for you may not work for someone else but the important thing is that it works for YOU.  You know what to do just execute and HAVE FUN!!!! I'll never podium but I have a damn good time in the BOP!!

Yes, I use all 2XU Tri gear and there is a noticeable comfort difference between comp and endurance. I would spend the money.

Those of you racing with wheelbuilder cover, how do you quickly change your tire? I posted question about it in TT as at IM AB I did last month, I had issues. My normal way is to get one lever under edge of tire and hook it on a spoke then second tire goes around edge to get that whole side off. No place to hook first tire lever.  It took probably 3-4x longer than normal. Any ideas?

Don't need two and don't need to hook it on a spoke.

Thats wat Im racing in, the 2xu endurance, but separate top and bottom.  They are very comfortable.  I can tell a difference on a long ride when I don't have at least the shorts on.  the top has deep pockets for stuff.  The chamois is thin but durable.  The compression is decent.  Just don't let anyone put it in the dryer to dry or you'll end up with a mini suit!

Kathy,

My wheels are too deep for the spoke trick anyway, so what I do is use 2 tire levers at once. IE, get them both under the tire's edge about 6-8 inches apart and then "flip" them simultaneously to get a big part of the tire off the rim quickly. Then use your non-dom hand to hold the wheel and one lever down while the dom works the second iron around. Should take less than 20 seconds.

Not sure I'd do that with firecrests or any other all carbon wheel, but I've got old Flashpoints with aluminum hoops so i just power them off.

For those of you flying in, are you interested in getting some CO2 threaded cartridges as group buy?

They can be $3-4 each at IM village or more.

Amazon sells generics in boxes of 15-30 and are less than half that price.

I was thinking of buying some, having them sent to my condo then offering extras up to others.

OHHH, good idea.

BTW, I've got three or four threaded 16 gram cartridges. I cannot use the threaded ones so these'll be first come first served to anyone who asks. I'll put them in the fishing box to take with me for those of you flying.

Also for those who fly to races it's interesting to note you CAN have two CO2 cartridges, IF you have an inflatable personal flotation device so if you're so inclined you can get something like one of the beasties from here:

http://www.stearnsflotation.com/Inflatable-Life-Jackets-C17.aspx
http://www.mustangsurvival.com/recreational/inflatable-pfds

Here's what the TSA page has to say about it:
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibi...
Small compressed gas cartridges
(Up to 2 in life vests and 2 spares. The spares must accompany the life vests and presented as one unit)

This is what I found worked...I've been practicing this morning...LOL....

Thanks for the tips...I've been practicing what you guys suggested.

Two levers next to each other I couldn't get bead off...tried both Park and Pedro.

What I found is using 2 Pedro levers about 5 inches apart work fantastic and they stay in place which allows me to use my right hand to get bead off. But I can't get Pedro levers to move along rim as it is wide and not shapped well so I swapped out the right one for a smaller Park slipped it in the middle between Pedro then remove right Pedro and was able to move it around the rim and get tire off.

Need to keep practicing to get a little faster.
