Aikidoman - 2008-10-14 4:49 PM I have determined that I will choke to death.  Fact...

How did you determine that?

I have a weird issue that no one can figure out.  My esophogus stops working at random times.  COMPLETELY stops.  So I take a bite of food, and it won't go down, and it doesn't come out.  It sits there.  I have learned to stay VERY calm, not panic, and let it work itself out, which can take minutes.

It's only going to take one time that it stops and food blocks the airway...  Weirdest thing, it happens with certain foods too.  Like rice.  Whoever heard of chocking on grains of rice?  I can...

There are some very old racist jokes that go with that that I will not bring up.  Just sayin'.

I wouldn't know such things...

That is odd.  The same thing, or at least something similar, happens to my grandma.  She occasionally has to go have her esophagus cleaned out.  Doesn't sound pleasant.

It happens to my uncle too.  He thinks drinking booze brings it on.  Thank GOD that's not my trigger!

Never had to get it 'cleaned out'.  It's simply a neuro-muscular issue.  Like wires get crossed.  some muscles want to push it down like normal, and the others constrict too soon and plug it up...  That's my deduction.

The took exray video of me eating, which was cool, but of course, nothing happened, so they can't figure it out.

tough to have a doc. follow me around from meal to meal until it happens.

If you want to throw around pizza to others, that's not up to me. I just would never be part of a situation like that. If I saw/knew that a line was being crossed and I was directly involved in the situation, I would get out of it asap.

There ARE married folks on this site who act inappropriately towards other members. I hope I'm never involved in a situation likek that.

Most likely just talk.

I sort of go by the rule that if I saw Mrs. Kido saying the same stuff to a buch on guys, would I get pizzed or not? If 'yes', then I don't say it.

That's what I do, too.  I don't act any differently than when I do when I am with my husband and he's not bothered by it.  Not sure why anyone else should care if it doesn't bother us.

Yeah, I think there may even be laws against it in some states...

You know, that thing with the 8 lbs of crisco, cordless drill, and feather duster?  That's a no go in Alabama..

One

One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes, it's the saddest experience you'll ever know
`Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest number, worse than two

It's just no good anymore since she went away
Now I spend my time just making rhymes of yesterday

One is the loneliest, number one is the loneliest
Number one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest, one is the loneliest
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
It's just no good anymore since she went away
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do

My house smells like Thanksgiving.  I'm making butternut squash with some apple pie spice on it.  It smells really good.  Also some salmon, but that's not very Thanksgiving-y.

I need new running shoes, my knees are hurting right now. Though I have pretty much doubled my run time in my last two outings.

First time since HS that I've worn out a pair of running shoes by actually running in them. Feels pretty good. Except for the whole knee-tiredness thinger.

Holy moe! That's a helluva long ride. Congrats and I'm glad you're okay.

This is my first official post from my new office. I should have known they were gonna play musical offices at work today!

The good news is, I have a nice big spacious office (unheard of for a part timer, big enough to have my doggie in) and I have been moved next to the Vice Presidents.

The bad news is, I have been moved next to the Vice Presidents. How am I supposed to keep up my party on BT when they are hovering!
